Yes, those wider spillover economic effects also need to be factored in. I haven’t crunched the numbers this time around. You are also right to talk about the reputational and city confidence impacts. Hopefully, they’ll do enough to survive and rebuild.

Absolutely Nigel. Relegation to League 1 would mean Stoke City operating in an entirely different financial environment. Guaranteed income from EFL TV rights, per-match fees and pyramid solidarity payments would drop from circa £10m to £2.5m on top of other significant revenue reductions.
