I'm not here to settle for scraps of my humanity.
Cis people: when you suggest this for trans folks, you are telling the fascists that *you* would settle for fewer rights, that *you* think it's reasonable to beg for and graciously accept what little they'll let you keep (for now)

To their credit, this is less depressing than that other stuff. /s

She is absolutely transmedicalist. Brianna Wu thinks she deserves her transition more than you do (if you do at all) unless you follow the old DSM to the letter. A bootlicker at best.

Her takes were horrible: modern trans movement is misguided, nonbinary is fake, assimilation is the only way, "I'm biologically male," real trans women vs AGP trans women, being vocal/visible is wrong and ruining what little acceptance we've earned, the DSM no longer has any standards, etc.

I listened to her for years on tech podcasts, completely unaware of who she really was. Around the time I hatched was when she came out (or was outed). I listened to a podcast with her in December and was shocked at how anti-trans and anti-queer both she and the host, a gay cis man, were.

After spending a couple minutes reading the replies to this, I've concluded that Twitter has ruined Bluesky.

Very telling that the kids laughing at his stupid car mattered to him, to the point that he had exact numbers. "How many little bastards are laughing at me? ...26, 27... Oh no! 28?! Noooo!"
I hope this is satire.

For sure. At this point, I'm on an ADHD tangent, though hopefully someone finds this thread and ends up researching it and learning about Civil Asset Forfeiture.
It's amazing that they can ruin lives with this, yet it barely means anything to them.

That tracks. It's not like "the police" are enriched by that, just the individual(s) talking the stuff home.
I've read a lot of stories about cops siezing "life savings" amounts of cash, vehicles, and even a couple of houses. I imagine those things end up on the books, except some skimmed cash.

Shoot, I'm not so sure. They steal a lot of stuff from people.

I think insurance'll cover most of whatever I get done (someday; the waiting list is looooong), but I'm absolutely willing to burn all of my retirement on that if I need to. Might not need it if I don't, anyway. 😅

Boo. Stop shaming these people.
I voted *against* Trump every time he's run. I wish I could have had a candidate to vote *for* instead.

Charlie's song! He writes an extremely Randy Newman theme song for the bar, gets locked in the basement where he huffs a bunch of chemicals, and the song warps into this monstrosity.

If you're gonna get hurt either way, might as well resist.

What?! Even though I hate that response, that's pretty awful that they lose the funding anyway. Hopefully those orgs have backtracked and made it clear that they made a mistake.

Instead? There's always time. We're only a couple months into his second term.

Who spends a quarter of a billion dollars to get elected so he can hurt a child for being trans, and deprive that child of their medicine? Who spends a quarter of a billion dollars so he can hurt a helpless trans migrant in a detention cell?
Who votes for a man like that?

I always hated this concept, but I love the idea of flipping it around in this way.
