I am a gamer, Linux user, and software hobbyist from Finland. I'm especially interested in fighting games (mainly Tekken and GBVSR) and RPGs but I play other kinds of games as well. Banner by @JANPAi_ on Twitter

Oh, seeing this game again feels like a real blast from the past, even though it also doesn't feel like it was all that long ago that it was released. Funny, that.

Wilds runs at a stable 60 FPS on my computer, whereas World suffers from FPS drops even when there's nothing intensive happening, and there's so much more tedium and inconvenience that permeates the game. Both games are goated of course, but I now see that I firmly prefer Wilds over World.

Wilds gets criticized for performing poorly even though it apparently doesn't look much better than World, but man, World just can't hold a candle to Wilds graphically. I remembered it looking *way* better than it actually does. Definitely a case of my memories being gilded with time.

I really like the Aki one especially.

That's unexpected but I think I can understand the reasoning.

I hadn't seen that man but I've seen him now that you showed me his photo.

I dig the gradient in the white hair.

That's... odd. I have a less capable 7900 XT and the same CPU and the game is fine for me. Could it be an Nvidia driver problem?

Incredible stuff, thank you!

That seems like it'd be a waste of their own time if nothing else. What is even the point of doing that lol? I can't imagine skipping cutscenes in barely any game, but least of all an RPG.

Accepting matches from wifi users in Tekken is brave haha. Far too often the match turns into Lag City.

That's one cozy-looking office.

It's not my single biggest problem with the game but I would like to see heat in T8 changed so that you have to somehow earn it first. I'm not sure *how* it should be earned or what a good rate of gain would be though.

Hell is Us is a curious one. I didn't get to finish the demo, but the section I played felt like a dark and tragic sci-fi fantasy mix with soulslike elements. For good or ill it's also the most AA game I've played in a while. I'm interested and I want to see more, but I haven't yet decided to buy.

I didn't have too much time to delve into Bitcraft Online, and I didn't get to experience player-owned settlements at all yet, but based on what I played I was reminded of Runescape, funnily enough, but with a greater focus on a player-driven economy. I'll be keeping my eye on this.

Town to City is another city builder, and I quite liked this one. You get to decorate your town in a pretty freeform way, and while I wouldn't call it zen, the demo was overall pretty laid-back and relaxing, which is just what I was looking for.
