The Insurrection Act is sweeping. It’s a huge grant of power to the President. It is also very expressly for conditions that do not exist in California. And if you’re hypothetically the governor, you should be saying so.

You know how the hero who punched Richard Spencer on camera was never found? And how great that was? Leave the skater punk alone. Let him become an archetype.

Didn’t expect this from Scientific American but here we are. (Article from 2020 but everything still relevant including COVID precautions)

Literally two weeks ago Stephen Miller screamed at ICE leadership for not raiding Home Depots.

What a photo. Paramount, California, U.S., June 7, 2025 @reuters.com

US media isn’t showing this. This is happening now LIVE.

NEW: The tactic has been used by autocrats the world over — including in Turkey, Hungary and El Salvador — to erode perceptions of the courts’ legitimacy and weaken the rule of law. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Paramount, CA is putting out a call for environmental engineers to collect and preserve air, soil, and water samples from the tear-gassed areas for examination and documentation.

I mean, can you imagine Edward R. Murrow saying, let's hold off on covering this Little Rock crisis because CBS has been promoting my Person to Person interview with Marilyn Monroe?

the white house thinks brute force is, no pun intended, a trump card. they don’t anticipate pushback and they don’t know how to handle it with anything other than escalation. the issue is that each escalation is itself a gamble. if protesters refuse to back down, you’ve lost face. (1/?)

interesting to note that 400 protesters have monopolized all of LASD’s enforcement power because they tried to help ICE arrest half a dozen guys working at a Home Depot if you’re scoring on efficiency, the protesters are winning

This is gonna hit different after a week of Miller and Homan playing soldier

Lol. The news reporting is lazy? That's exactly how we got here.

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

Okay there it is.

It's the Washington Monument in the background that really takes this to next-level dystopian

LAPD firing impact munitions at Los Angelenos while DHS arrests their neighbors.

You may not be in a position to fight the American Gestapo but you can take video of them, wave your middle finger at them, and show that Americans will not meekly surrender to them.

These are crimes. They're committing crimes. And when people understandably protest the fact that they're committing crimes, they're shooting flashbangs at them.

Protesters in Los Angeles have halted a bus that is allegedly carrying people ICE has kidnapped

I recently heard a high-profile pundit argue that the Trump movement cannot be Fascistic as -its supporters don't wear uniforms; -Trump dislikes foreign wars; -he hasn't tried to amend the Constitution. It's a dangerously complacent view, that misses the sheer gravity of the current situation. 🧵

At the ICE raid and subsequent community resistance in Paramount, California this morning, this skater kid ate dozens of munitions from Border Patrol agents, walked away slowly and flipped them off.

Really good chance that the summer of 2020 ends up having been the training ground for the next round of massive civil unrest. Tens of thousands of Americans stood up and faced down armed agents of the state and took their best shots. That’s going to really change the dynamics moving forward.

What the fuck is the point of paying money to a police department if they won’t protect people from hostile masked kidnappers?

When Donald Trump said he cared about the price of eggs, he was talking about his small ones.

They’re not behaving as if they’re in a four-year term. They’re behaving as if they’re in an everlasting dictatorship. Are we all clear on this?

Los Angeles: if you get tear gas or see other people who have been and someone calling themselves a medic tries to use milk to wash their eyes out SLAP THAT MILK JUG OUT THEIR FUCKING HAND. MILK DOES NOT WASH OUT TEAR GAS. Just use bottled water please.

As I said yesterday: We can no longer believe any numbers the Trump Administration gives us. 🚨 We must find a way to gather, organize, analyze and share data from local and state sources ... though R-dominated states may soon follow the Vought(P25)-Trump lead.

You'd better read this thread, I think

Neo-nazi group with clear Russian links expands activity in the US www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

This is a recurring thing where the second a former appointee says something mildly critical, Trump goes on a tear about how incompetent & traitorous they are. It never seems to occur to him that he’s announcing he’s unfit for his job.

ICE arrested former Afghan Nat'l Army soldier—our ally against Taliban—at his home in TX. He entered legally and atty says he has no criminal record. Was applying for asylum. Appears to be casualty of Trump decision de-documenting legal Afghan immigrants www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/new...

Bitch you're the only person talking about this shit! This is letting the other side dictate the debate! We've been beaten over the head with Alexander Hamilton quotes for a decade and yet party leadership still hasn't internalized the easiest thing: "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything."

All this to target working-class people making clothes and other low-cost items. This was designed to spread terror and fear - to physical hurt an entire city.

Oh look, the happiest places in America are nearly all liberal.

Contrary to popular imagination, New York City is the happiest place in the US. (Copenhagen is the global winner.)

This is so wrong. All to feed the ego of a mad tyrant who never had the balls to serve. This is not what we do in America. This is so fucking wrong. Makes me so sad. And so angry.👇

This is exactly like when Musk deleted his 2018 “pedo guy” tweet.

“You know, if you're not safe in Honesdale, that means that they can get you anywhere.” The “they” in that sentence refers to the masked goons of the federal government.

This is why due process is so important. Any one of us, including you, could be the next "MS13 leader."

The Times is cooked.

I feel like we aren’t making a big enough deal about how insane this is
