I am even more perplexed since the election. Dislike stereotyping, one group doesn’t win or loose the election, individuals make it a win or a loss. Unity is key to forward progress. Grown children, cat mom. LGBTQ+ ally.

Nobodies talking about the section in the big bill that will take away the court’s ability to find Trump in contempt. So the idea of a 2026 election is no more than a how right now. If the bill passes, he has cut the judiciary from the checks and balances. The gop has given him the legislature.

But please tell me what democrats in the legislature are acknowledging and talking about this. Are some ok with it. The stuff they talk about in the bill isn’t important if he can do whatever he wants. He could cancel elections and dems stay in office powerless but keep jobs and wealth.Speak up dems

Everyone should see this. This is outrageous no matter circumstances.

This was already part of a plan to cause distraction while the courts are robbed by the big bill of the ability to find Trump in contempt. This will crush the little bit of the balance of power that is left. Biggest question, why aren’t dems in legislature talking about it? We know the media won’t.

Looks like a lot more whatever they are than protestors.

Ever wonder why people already in the legislature of both parties aren’t speaking about or warning people about this. They keep telling us it is in our hands to defend the democracy. Are they hoping elections are canceled and they don’t have to run again, just sit back in a sham legislature.

While I agree with this. The fight is distraction from the bill that will render the courts useless in fighting Trump. What could happen. No elections and Mike Johnson, MTG, all the dems suddenly have lifetime appointments. No more messy voting. You imagine it, it could happen. He said no voting.

Or that the courts, the last thing in Trumps way are about to be rendered useless.

Yet nothing new has been revealed and the news cycle has been taken away from Trumps agenda with the bill.

What about the courts being stripped of contempt power

If they pass all the stuff in the reconciliation bill, I don’t think we will have a real election. It would take the away the power of judiciary to find him in contempt. Even the way things are now he could write an EO, the court would rule, he appeals, elections postponed. These are not normal times

If we get past this administration, we need change and reform from our elected officials. We need to consider how much legislators have made and where it came from. They need to work for and represent their constituents.

The fact that this part of the bill isn’t being talked about by every democrat in office says they really aren’t fighting for our democracy. All the money amounts won’t mean anything if he gets full power. He can take ss, completely gut the federal government and maybe disregard elections.

And yet not one of them speaks up about the part that gives the courts no power over Trump and his administration. That should be the first part of every video and discussion before the financial part. Because if that passes, everything could go including VA admin. Social Security, and free speech

If our intelligence was so good, how did they allow project 2025 to be constructed and then put into affect. We are not taken over by one person, it was a planned operation from right wing conservatives. So our intelligence agency must have been aware and unbothered by it.

Why would anyone want this? What is the matter with people that think this is good.

Probably the most important thing in the bill. Forget future elections, I would imagine he could just cancel them. Yep this is the dictator maker hidden in a healthcare, tax bill. Should be all over the internet this morning and a big no on protest signs all over before this goes to the senate.

We need to know what other stuff was added on to the bill, things like giving more power to exec. branch, gun stuff, the quiet but devastating parts.

We need to pay attention to the stuff crammed in to the bill. Rights and laws, lies and pathways to atrocities perhaps. Is a personal army and detention system being put together to one day house the poor. If you are willing to take food and medical care from everyone but the wealthiest, what’s next

“Christians” have always been very exclusionary. I remember talk about those Catholics, those baptists, holy rollers, lots of derogatory talk that has kept the agnostic and atheist in hiding for fear of job loss, social isolation, etc. The ability to ride Donald Trump to power on their backs obvious

This is a big distraction, well timed after a night of the gop house pushing cuts that will surely lead to a humanitarian crisis at some point. Hospitals will close, nursing homes also, jobs gone, homes lost. The camps you think they are building for illegals could potentially fill with the poor.

Here in the US we will be losing coverage for nursing home care if Trump’s bill passes. The loss of Medicaid will cause the closing of a lot of nursing homes and rural hospitals. Homelessness has started being outlawed in some areas. Seniors have a lot more to worry about now than just being alone.

My gang, 2 Maine Coons, Colonel 7 and Mikey 2. Two feral rescues, Big Foot 9 and Lana 10. All indoor cats, but Colonel and Mikey get to go out with me into fenced backyard. They too are worried about the world now, especially possible supply chain issues with their food.

We had more federal civil service jobs. Small government from gop really means fewer regulations that protect citizens and the planet. Lots of privatization that costs the taxpayers more, while lining the pockets of corporations & CEOs, who give higher political donations. It lowers workers wages.

We need to educate people that there can be more. That we were settling for less than other countries. Coming back from this, if we do, should mean change, like legislators working for their congressional paychecks, not for special interests groups and foreign PACs. Progressive means moving forward

Have you been going to the protests downtown. Just show up people, sign, no sign, just add to the numbers. Play some old protest music on your way, bring some peaceful energy. It’s not much but it’s a statement. We can be peaceful and let our numbers do the talking. It takes everyone, get moving.

Right now I would settle for just a phone call. But yes don’t forget everyone deserves all the things you posted, everyday. Women are getting pushed in bad ways. If you are one that stayed home while your kids were young, then please share with younger women the financial cost you paid for it later.

We need regulations allowing farm workers, but also regulating the farms that hire them insuring safe working conditions, etc.we need and depend on these hard working people and they deserve to be treated with dignity like every worker deserves.
