Newark mayor Ras Baraka was just arrested by ICE/DHS after visiting an immigrant detention center called Delaney Hall which opened illegally without permits from the city he runs. This is fascism in action.

This is a good question actually, and I want to explain. As soon as Trump took office California ag had a problem because migrants stopped coming to work. Not only did fruit and veggie prices go up, but feed prices for cattle and pigs went up. Good, local meat is significantly more expensive now.

Quick reminder that thanks to free trade even an American product like a Boeing 737 is a truly international affair. Costs for this should only go up under the currently proposed US tariff scheme. That’s inflationary in nature. Not sure how inflation can be curbed in the US in the short term.

Scrubbing IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) documents is not unique to measles and not unique to Canada. The US, UK & EU have universally wiped any of the NPI measures for disease control and disappeared any mention of schools, isolation of the sick or N95 respirators. #ZeroMeasles

Arguing that USAID funding shouldn’t be restored because it’s “US propaganda” or “imperialist” despite the projected death toll in the millions is like arguing that running through a hospital pulling the plug on every patient you can find is a protest against for-profit healthcare.
