WTAF.

Well I am definitely ranking Lander first now. WTAF.

I taught this history for years, and it's incredibly difficult in my experience to get students to understand the difference between actual miasma theory/sanitation theory and the rational associations they have as contemporary people between clean environments and health. 1/

Catskill, NY. Population 12,000. Greene country voted Trump @57% in 2024.

Forums were the internet's high point. How did we let that slip away?

Definitely remember my writing teachers suggesting we unlock our creativity and cure writer's block by handing in someone else's writing. If only Joseph Mitchell had had AI.

I've talked a lot of trash about Little Rock over the years, but I gotta hand it to today's sunrise over the river. Great work.

Really doing my best work tonight.

GM 🖤 Please take care of yourself

You also don't have to be good at your hobbies. Ski poorly. Modge-podge what you want to. Let that soft animal of your body make some really bad paintings if that's what it loves.

This is especially cool bc Bari Weiss and friends started a witch hunt against my kids' truly wonderful pubic school over a teacher whose work is partly funded by the Qatar Foundation. Like this sweet, amazing, inspiring, brilliant teacher got talked about in Congressional hearings.

Piggly Wiggly has local raw unfiltered honey and local pickles but no Chobani. This is the definitive split between bougie and country coded grocery situations

Sang "The Ordering of Moses" with my choir tonight, a piece mostly about crossing the Red Sea. And it occurs to me that Exodus comes before Leviticus. So. When they walked across the seabed, were the Israelites allowed to have oysters?

If any building has a gay lobby it’s St. Peter’s Basilica.

“I asked ChatGPT” well I asked the three Fates and the one with the scissors got very agitated when I told her you were using your one precious life thread talking to that cursed thing

Movies you have seen six or more times, no Star Wars, LOTR, Or Trek.

I, a Star Trek person, have agreed to take my son, a Star Wars person, to Revenge of the Sith on Monday. How do I learn enough to have some understanding/appreciation for what I'm about to see? Please don't say watch everything. Is there something I can read? Maybe with pictures?
