I taught this history for years, and it's incredibly difficult in my experience to get students to understand the difference between actual miasma theory/sanitation theory and the rational associations they have as contemporary people between clean environments and health. 1/

This is especially cool bc Bari Weiss and friends started a witch hunt against my kids' truly wonderful pubic school over a teacher whose work is partly funded by the Qatar Foundation. Like this sweet, amazing, inspiring, brilliant teacher got talked about in Congressional hearings.
