With some particularly harsh words for Rutte:
“Lastly, I cannot find the words to describe the communication chosen by the Secretary General. I feel I might speak for a significant part of Europeans — it's tasteless. …
It reduces Europe to the state of a beggar”

I would be really good to see some actual statistics on all these accidents to get a sense of if these are potential attacks or just us, and the press, paying more attention now

So he complains that Russia is throwing around the nuclear word while in the same message throwing around the nuclear word...
We live in the dumbest timeline.

Russia should return to its historic 1400 borders.

It sounds like a very good idea... So I think we can be pretty sure the EU won't do it.

"“A cup of coffee might seem like nothing, but 100 of them buys an evacuation bukhanka [army van] that can save 50-100 of our wounded,” read one recent post from the pro-war Telegram channel Troika."
I know something that could save ALL Russian soldiers... and it is FREE!!!

These Russian personel losses are way too low for comfort... Ideally they should be above 1500 daily to avoid having Russia be able to build reserves given their estimated recruitment numbers.

the Russians pointing to the Iranians air defense failure being due more to organizational issues within their armed forces rather than "bad equipment".

able to gain air supremacy we, in Europe, should not expect to be able to achieve something similar if we have to fight the Russians despite Russia and Iran using similar air defense systems. The Russian air defense systems have already performed much better in the hands of both the Ukrainians and

Perhaps the underlying issue really is that in terms of security/defense, it doesn't make sense to talk about the EU or Europe+ or even NATO; We are simply too diverse in our interests and perception of the Russian risk.

Is Iran using Russia style air defence systems? Or are they home grown?
Like, if they are Russian ones would what we see over Iran be a "trial" of what an air war between Russia and Europe potentially would look like?

Both the North Koreans and the Chinese do better military parades... Even when Trump do something stupid he does it poorly.

Thst is true.. And better ones.. The garans.. But Iran is still also exporting to Russia.. So would be a nice little dent in Russias supply if the Iranian factory was taken out

Always reminds me of this quote: "There's a reason we separate military and the police: one fights the enemy of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people." en.battlestarwiki.org/Quotes:09_21

A permanent solution for long range air defense or also a permanent (and potentially a different) solution for THE NASAMs.
If we want independence from the US then NASAM is a no go, unless a different missile can be adjusted to work with it.
For long range defense, samt/p is the way to go.

Would it be within the contract to sell them to the Greece who then sell/transfer a similar number of their own Leopard1HEL variants to Ukraine? Would this constitute "indirect transfer"?

we will not be able to provide enough air defense system to ourselves to protect our troops and our cities either.

It is very important to understand, that if Europe get into war with Russia, these drones (in these numbers) will be used against us. We are currently unable to provide enough air defense systems to Ukraine to defend against this (+ Ukraine's own production). If Russia attacks into Europe, then

Russia isn't stuck in Ukraine because they are weak. They are stuck because the Ukrainen are strong.
The Russian army is likely Europe's strongest and the Ukrainian the 2. Strongest.

Disregardig the snarkiness, isn't the real problem still our dependece on the US? We have to walk around on eggshells and placate whichever vile creature inhabits the white house because we have managed to put ourselves in this vassal like relationship with the US.
