This development was master-planned in anticipation of fixed-guideway transit. Plus the service launched with 15 minute peak service, but the pandemic slowed demand and schedules were trimmed back accordingly. I’d be interested to see how a line linking this area with the Blue Line would perform.

here are the elephants at the @sandiegozoo.bsky.social safari park reacting to the earthquake just outside #sandiego. you can see them forming an “alert circle,” as Emily helpfully informed us, during which the adults can be seen "instinctively circling the younger elephants to protect them."

I was on a search last year in Sycamore Canyon where the Lakeside Substation deputies were trying to convince everybody involved we were actually in Poway so they’d get credit for the assist. Hasn’t changed.

We had Decobike starting in 2014, but it didn’t survive the rapid rise and fall of dockless micromobility. Between having the City’s dedicated mobility program folded back into transportation and the current budget situation I doubt there’ll be an appetite for a second try for a while.
