Start here. If you’re actually concerned about ICE in LA and don’t know who Chad is, follow him bsky.app/profile/chad...

So Clinton was more conservative that say, LBJ, and Obama was more conservative than Clinton?

Going after neighborhood paleta man like he’s Bin Laden.

It is not. Where is this nonsense coming from? Vibes?

That article has nothing to do with radiators. It’s about the sun warming up the various heat sinks in a house. But also you can generally insulate your way out of this mess as well.

Molly Jong Fast was a nobody who turned spamming “I did Nazi that coming” in Twitter replies into her own show on MSNBC. Never stop hustling.

Thank your insulation

Yeah this was the root of my question. I get the air thing. May as well not blow dust in/around if you don’t have to, but heat is heat, and R-value is R-value

Pauline Shore catching strays!

I’ve lived in LA for 20 years so may have forgotten but… what’s bad about forced air heating?

I refer to this as the Home Depot Tax

I am fundamentally a person who needs evidence to be convinced. And so far, I have seen no evidence other than speculation based on the incredibly unprofessional acts of some masked officers during raids, and that’s just not evidence, *especially* given the track record of the agency here.

Hi this is insane nonsense thanks

Bill, do you want to bet $10,000 that the use of force will stay limited?

I think we all agree that the CEOs of AI companies should be sent into the jungle naked.

LLMs are not useful to me personally, but people with certain jobs say they are 🤷‍♂️
comment in response to post
If the proponents of AI uselessness would stop conflating LLMs with “all machine learning ever” there’d be no problem. Also there are plenty of programmers in this very thread saying “Even LLMs are useful to me” so forgive me if I don’t believe bringing evidence to the “public forum” would help.

I have ridden the El/Bart/LA Metro/etc etc somewhere between 1,000 and 3,000 times and I have seen exactly 3 bad things happen. Now… the SF Muni bus? Ehhhhhh…

I don’t think a wire stripper is “not useful” because I’m an editor and it sucks at holding a pen. I know that some people are electricians.

I think Altman is a conman and LLMs are dumb too but I’m begging these people to talk to someone in science or industry about machine learning.

This is a nice and thoughtful thread. I still wish these people wouldn’t add me to a list called “Full blown Nazis” when I imply that, say, Hamas is actually bad or “I think supply and demand does apply to housing.”

BlueSky is like the Berkeley of social networks. You go there and get a bit more conservative because you are finally forced to reckon with the fact that a lot of people who share your politics are dumber than dogshit
