A lot of sn- words have nasal associations - sniff, sniffle, snivel, snitch (=nose) snooty, snob/snub, snook (as in cock a), snore, snout, snuff, snuffle - in addition to those you mention. The sn- root is found in most Germanic languages and is apparently imitative or onomatopoeic.
