Another indication of rapidly shifting attitudes in NI - in 2018 the percentage of those describing themselves as British was 11 points higher than those identifying as Irish. Now identifying as Irish has a 10 point lead; a 21 point swing in just six years.

This is the fifth year that the NILT survey has run a border poll question, and since 2020 the lead for staying in the UK has fallen from 29 percentage points to 8 points.

As in, designate as Nationalist at Stormont. You have the usual ambiguity about whether PBP are nationalist or not (they are, but they designate as "Other"), but the PBP seat in West Belfast is probably going to the DUP anyway so the point is moot.

At a constituency level, Lagan Valley (40%) and East Belfast (37%) have seen some of the highest increases in median incomes in the UK since 2017, up with Walthamstow (43%) and Greenwich (42%). Strong growth in Newry too (32%). Much lower in North (13%) & West (18%) Belfast.
