I’m so in the bag for this movie and movies like it. More fun, high quality 90-min movies.

I this makes the case that the media has real limitations to affect public discourse and perception and that the campaign play an important part in driving narrative

Is this normal?

An experienced professional would save their response for their next all hands where they’d denounce this to current employees smh

That a company can learn this lesson in 2025 is wild

I’m convinced this is a microcosm for why democrats lose at everything

Similar story. The volume of random content was so high I thought I accidentally turned on something wrong in my settings, literally went looking for the toggle only to realize that this is just the state of content

Funny how much this mirrors trump voters who don’t believe they or their loved ones magically won’t be the ones deported

It was very much a product of its time. Everyone was more idealistic and optimistic about tech then. Every tech founder thought they were Steve Job and not M*sk

Seems like they were also the dog that caught the mail truck

Was an awakening when I learned it is equally important to which people are “enforcing” the law as what the laws are. People tend to think it’s applied neutrally when they ideologically agree with the enforcers

I’m in the workspace business and I have talked to *a lot* of customers who were waiting for their 5 and 10 year leases to expire so they could rightsize to a flex solution that reflected actual attendance

This makes so much sense. For the last few years there was a lot of talk and posting screenshots on Slack at work and this year… crickets

Yes yes he looks better in the before pic but “life extended”? How could you know that?

This makes me think of a point @jamellebouie.net once said that Trump hires people who seem stereotypically right for the role. Hegseth looks the part for the military, Carson looked the part for Dept of Housing and Urban Dev, Kari Lake was and looks like an anchorwoman so she’s perfect

The data point not included here is that it’s the second lowest approval rating for any transition since they started tracking it. Obama’s was 79%. The lowest was Trump’s in 2016

This and I know this guy will one day make it the wasteland that Facebook is today so investing there feels a bit futile

I think they over indexed on trying to maintain a certain vibe, got used to the idea X exoduses were mostly good for them, and to some degree lost sight of what people crave from this medium

Uh huh. I am not in media or politics in any way. My democratic friends and I still talk about the debate and how alarmed we are. The I show up here and our concerns are apparently a media conspiracy or we’re liberal traitors for having those conversations.

But since I voted for him in the primary half a year ago I have learned new info that he is experiencing cognitive decline and it’s impairing his ability to do the job and I think we should revisit our choices given this new info

Yeah, I’m struggling. Threads has taken kind of a turn to bait-y banality and here feels tense.

The turning point for me a couple years ago was the copaganda. Just printing what the police say as the obv truth is egregious.

The before and after are equal levels of difficulty, one is just shorter 🤦🏼‍♂️

You are being too generous. It is unrecognizable there too

I wonder if the debate will be a good opportunity to put this on display, otherwise everything is delivered through quotes and soundbites that don’t carry this context

How did the conversation start? How’d you meet?

Yeah, makes me think we (the public) are not their real audience

Things people want to chat with that they currently can’t: their pets. Anthropomorphizing documents, something resented and easily discarded, it’s a bad idea
