Regarding death row prisoners, I’ve always thought life would be less expensive than execution. Court costs from multiple appeals over several years is millions of dollars. But incarceration might be $40k/year?

I did some more research and now believe they were refused entry because they admitted to doing remote work, and doing that from USA would violate their visas. Strip search was detention protocol for overnight stay to catch next days flight.
Strip search was excessive, in my opinion.

Oh my GOD this is so awful for America.
I’m thankful that even Madras Oregon might accept that we need a regime change.

Unfortunately someone has gone too far here. The salem Oregon dealership has been fire bombed and shot up. Another dealership closer to Portland has also been shot up. I Followed a Tesla yesterday that had a “member of Elon haters club” sticker on it. (Not sure that I believe it though)

Heather cox Richardson wrote a thought provoking essay last night that suggests Schumer might have been right, that the awful bill was better than a shutdown. A shutdown would have handed Trump/elon the legal power to shut down even more of our government.

I badly want to share this essay. This Friday is a protest to show support for the VA, and it would be greatly appreciated.
When I find his essay online though, the paper has it behind a paywall. Maybe he has it in a shareable pdf?
