“higher earnings for both men & women increase likelihood of first birth; couples in which both partners are high earners are most likely to have children. The positive income-fertility association remained stable for married couples but grew stronger for single/cohabiting individuals in late 2010s”

Terrific news in Sweden... Massive decreases in HPV-16 & 18 due to HPV vaccination. There was a 98%/99% decline in HPV-16/HPV-18 prevalence among 2000-born vs. (unvaxxed) 1984-born cohort. Declines larger than the vax coverage, suggesting herd immunity operating. 🛟🧪😷 Medsky idsky health policy

New research: Fertility rates in states with abortion bans were higher than would have been expected in the absence of these policies. Largest estimated differences were in subpopulations experiencing greatest structural disadvantages & in states with among the worst maternal & child health outcomes

This is a great piece of critique and common sense.

Parental union dissolution substantively and persistently lowers children's wellbeing. ew article in @sfjournal.bsky.social by Mikkeline M. Nielsen (@rockwoolfonden.dk), Michael Gähler (@stockholm-uni.bsky.social), and I (@sofi.su.se ), we use longitudinal data on Danish children. #divorce (1/n)
