Monica CRM is nice. You can use it to make specific, categorized notes and events associated with contacts, or you can just write in your plain journal and leave it at that.

EXCUSE ME???

I'll be honest, the lineup was mostly by accident and then when I realized what was happening I just went for it. I doubt I'd be able to do it again without a lot of tries πŸ˜…

we already have copy+paste and bulk refactoring tools, why do we even need any of this. Wtf

The only time where it gets things right is when I'm doing boilerplate and have already set the format manually once, and then it's like "ah I know what you want, more of the same!" but then if one of the things I want to do is slightly different, it doesn't pick up on the context at all

When active, it replaces the tab complete. But it takes a second to think, so I hit tab in anticipation of the standard tab completion but by the time it registers, it gets replaced by AI garbage that wasn't remotely what I meant. Yayyyy

mouse control scheme isn't great, use either wasd/arrow keys or an xbox controller

Designing your own serialization structure is really fun though - absolutely valid for you to make your own decisions like that. It's not hard to make something smarter than json because json was never trying to be "smart"
comment in response to post
"classical standard method" being: if you see a curly brace, go do object parsing. If you see a square brace, go do array parsing. It's simple and easy, you just write code that follows clear, simple instructions rather than trying to figure out what's inside before doing something with it
comment in response to post
The upside to that on the other hand is that basically any language can implement json without complicated features. And that's a big reason why json is so ubiquitous, while other standards may be more efficient but are not as commonplace
comment in response to post
One of Json's strengths is that its serialization standard is designed in a way that does not demand the code to be super smart. That comes with some downsides, like not being very efficient in space. But if you need space efficiency, you don't pick json.

I have written one as well. It depends on your language and the path you go down. It's certain possible to write it in a way that this doesn't matter, but with the most classical standard method it most certainly does.

One of the factors with parsing performance is how many characters you need to look ahead. Having different data structures be different braces means that it doesn't need to look ahead and can skip straight to the appropriate parsing code without looking ahead to figure out which type it is

That's what I like to hear! I've got vive wands and at the very least, tried out the default binding to make sure it worked. But vive wands aren't my usual preference so I don't know all the ways that vive wands enjoyers like things set up. Should be plenty configurable with steamVR bindings though!
comment in response to post
That said, vive wands might not be a great input method for acro mode. But they should at least be functional in self-level mode, enough to fly a bit and not get soft locked lol
comment in response to post
Yeah vive wands were definitely busted in that first build. We took a look at it and there was another patch that should include a slightly better default binding and make it so you can always get out of FPV mode without having drone-specific bindings.

Maybe talking about how they turn on, connect, and start steamvr when you plug them in? Yeah that's a little weird. At this point steamvr is a 24/7 program for me anyway so it's not a problem

I'm a sucker for tundra. The shape is so much more elegant and unobtrusive. And besides, I like supporting smaller companies. There's clearly way more passion there than the monolith of HTC. Everything else is close enough between them that it doesn't matter to me

They really did nail the model

I need a fetch prefab so I can do cute little flips and hops and rolls in front of somebody until they throw a ball and I go nyoom away to grab it and bring it back to them

It's magical how much this silly little toy is becoming an extension of my sense of self in the same way that avatars do
