She's been vague in interviews because she has to. Talking openly in public would put the move in jeopardy. She's playing at a big club who is capable and willing to pay her what she's worth. She's staying.

I know, I want them to. I think she came at a tricky time midway through the season. I'm hoping with a proper pre season, she will get more opportunities next season.

I went to Lisbon and saw Arsenal win the Champions League and then on the plane home watched Gotham win the Concacaf W Champions Cup. It's just been an unbelievable weekend and now my two teams are probably going to play each other. 😅 2/2

I'm a lifelong Arsenal fan, started following Gotham at the beginning of the 2023 season (great season to start, I know), your podcast has been extremely helpful connecting me to the history of the club etc. But this weekend has just been incredible.

No, I was merely pointing out that there is clearly a pathway for a player from Malawi to play in France where it would be possible to amass enough points to facilitate a move to the WSL. If the player was not interested in that then fine.

I accept that but you were the one who seemed to be drawing a straight line between Tabitha Chawinga having never played in the wsl meaning she couldn't have played in the wsl rather that her just not wanting to or the right opportunity not presenting itself.

Just cos she never came to the wsl doesn't mean it wouldn't be an option for her. I presume she's played enough matches in France to qualify. Martinez didn't qualify because she's German, she's never played senior international football. She qualified cos she was playing in a top European league.

Her sister plays in France so presumably it would have been possible to move her to a French club to build points, if as you pointed out she was open to that.

I submit 2020/21. Effectively started with a terrible performance in the previous seasons champions league, no fans in the stands, eliminated from the conti cup in the group stage, no title challenge, even the fa cup run to the final technically from that season was mainly in the following season.

And my guess for the Palace move is because of the men's fa cup. They are at home to Millwall this weekend so high chance of a QF and 50/50 that it's home so just guessing they wanted to avoid a late move due to a stadium clash.
