Politics is not a game. It's people's lives. The Government's welfare cuts will have a catastrophic impact on the sick & disabled, and plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty. It's simple: show some humanity and drop this Bill, now.

The government should have listened to disabled people a long time ago: stop these disgraceful cuts and drop the Bill.

Jonathan's take on Richard Branson.

Today, I asked the Deputy PM if she would support an independent inquiry into the UK's complicity in Israeli war crimes. She refused to answer. Just like Iraq, the government is doing everything it can to shield itself from scrutiny. Just like Iraq, it will not succeed in hiding the truth.

The richest 1% in the UK have £2.8tn. The poorest 70% (everyone with less than £600,000 EACH) have £2.4tn. The rich need to be taxed or you will always be poor.

River Action mounts court challenge over 'unlawful' water bill rise. Ofwat allowed inflation busting price increases without guaranteeing that the money would be spent on maintenance. People fleeced. Investment not made, sewage dumped, profits increased, dividends paid, exec pay hiked.

Keir Starmer vows to press on with welfare cuts as rebellion grows. Wrong. Listen to the poor, sick, disabled; your backbenchers. Govt can cut corporate welfare, tax the rich. HMRC didn't collect £46.8bn of taxes last yr. We are all one illness/accident away from needing benefits Oppose the cuts

Rachel Reeves warns welfare rebels they could devastate govt. Emotional blackmail. 800,000 disabled people could lose benefits. Tories backing the cuts. Shameful if the Bill passes because of Tory support. Tell your MP to vote against the cruel cut. archive.ph/pJVcv

Ask your MP to join the growing rebellion against cuts to disability benefits. Write to your MP now: r.ippl.es/benefit-cuts...

IT’S HAPPENING! Labour MPs have launched a major rebellion to stop Keir Starmer’s welfare bill Write to your MP NOW and ask them to vote against the planned cuts. You can use this handy link from @trusselluk.bsky.social action.trussell.org.uk/your-mp-must...

Labour MPs launch major rebellion to stop welfare bill, which cuts disability benefits Last night at the PLP meeting Liz Kendall asked MPs to back her. 108 have indicated opposition Fuel the rebellion. Tell your MP to vote against the cruel cut. Poverty is a political choice

Sir Alan Bates calls for those responsible for wrongful convictions in Post Office Capture scandal to be 'brought to account' news.sky.com/story/post-o...

Just abolish the DWP. Replace it with an inflation linked UBI, have NHS and Social staff able to add essential allowances for disability and social need. No need for DWP assessments. Simplifies the process and save millions in administrative costs. Also boost security for the most vulnerable.

Disability benefit cuts will harm hundreds of thousands, MPs warn: 'A disaster on every front' 'it's very clear that if this goes ahead, the wider cost to society will be bigger than any money they save' www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

Benefits reform must be pushed through, says UK PM. NO. Disability benefit cuts, two child benefit cap are cruel. Don't scapegoat the poor. How about cutting corporate welfare, profiteering? Decent pay reduces demand for benefits - 37% of universal credit claimants are in work.

🤦🏼‍♀️

I just signed the petition to to demand the Government tax the super rich to rebuild our NHS, schools, and other public services. Will you sign too? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ta...

UK Govt's £122m claim against Michelle Mone-linked company reaches high court. Got PPE contracts through VIP lane. Govt claimed PPE was defective. After denials Mone and husband admitted they personally benefitted. Wheels grind slowly when it comes to the rich. Mone was sued in December 2022.

Genuine question. Where has the government suddenly found all the money for arms, education, new power stations?

Water Follies In the 35 years before privatisation, 100 reservoirs built; no major English reservoir built since. Asset-stripping: Thames Water sold-off 25 reservoirs. Southern Water to decommission 43 of 93 by 2030. Companies paid £85bn in dividends, borrowed £70bn. People fleeced and abused.

Wonders of UK energy privatisation. Not enough capacity to carry/store electricity. On windy days, govt pays wind farms NOT to produce electricity. £500m this year, £8bn a yr by 2030. Elsewhere companies are paid vast sums for emergency production. Companies get ssubsidies, we get higher bills.

35 years of privatisation. 35 years of excessive profits. 35 years of rising bills. There is no market solution. Take water into public ownership now!

Ffs who did this? 😂

Failed COVID PPE contracts during the pandemic cost UK public purse £1.4bn. £762m lost - PPE over ordered and defective, delays in checking quality. Govt trying to recover £468m. But some got richer. Would govt snoop on their bank accounts, like it will on benefit claimants?

Millions of people are worried about paying their rent, feeding their kids or losing vital disability benefits. If the government cared about people's security, it would reverse cruel cuts, end child poverty and pursue an agenda for peace. Let's fund welfare, not warfare.

Why have our government suddenly decided to massively up the tax payer funded spend on arms? What about housing the homeless, properly funding the NHS and dozens of other 'socially good' things that need fixing in the country? Totally beyond me.

England’s water companies have 1,135 criminal convictions. United Utilities 205; Thames Water 187. They dump sewage into rivers; directors not prosecuted; fleece customers; pay dividends. What if you had 1,135 criminal convictions? One law for corporations, another for us.
