The worst part was that, rather than framing her recovery as her being among the lucky few, they framed it as the result of her efforts. This was offensive to the many others who have been equally determined and made just as many lifestyle changes, but haven’t had the same good fortune.

Thanks for this article, Amanda. The Insight episode was a huge betrayal of our community. They focussed a huge proportion of time on one person who claimed to have recovered, despite her own admission than only 5% of people are fortunate to have that experience.

Ted “Nuclear” O’Brien elected as deputy leader suggests that nuclear will continue to form part of the Liberal Party’s platform.

Yep, the only time the Libs would allow a woman to lead is when leadership is a poisoned chalice.

I hope Labor isn’t pinning its hopes on its atrocious campaign finance rules to rid it of the threat that is the minor parties and independents. It needs to see that growing primary vote as an indication that they need to change to better address the concerns of a huge swath of voters.

Excellent analysis, Frank. I appreciate the historical context.

She was so toxic during the Voice campaign, during the election campaign and last night too. The contrast between McGrath and Price, digging in on the hatred and division last night, versus Chalmers refusing to dance on Dutton’s grave, was stark.

Labor also left behind other things:
- Strong action on climate change, approving new coal & gas projects
- Action on corruption with the implementation of a useless NACC
- Avoidance of truth in political advertising laws
- Terrible campaign finance laws that help them, not the country

James McGrath. He’s predictably awful. So far, framing the Libs as a small, underdog with few resources trying to battle the enormous Goliath that is the deep-pocketed teals, the Greens as awful, anti-semitic people and party, and Labor as union thugs (with Chalmers sitting next to him).

It’s like calling anti-abortionists pro-life. We should call them what they are, not what their PR spin message is.

I had my application rejected recently too. I’ve been bedbound 20+ hours a day for more than 10 years, I’m reliant on my elderly parents for my care. Medical reports clearly outlined that my conditions are fully treated & permanent, but they were obviously not read. How disabled do I need to be?

Many of us didnt fail to see it. We saw it, we told you it was there and you labelled us Trump Derangement Syndrome. It sucks that we were right, but don’t lie and claim that no one saw it. You failed to see it and you refused to listen to those of us who did.

Thank you! I also waterproofed them, so any spills just bead and roll off, so I hope my friend does use them!

I bought some cheap cork coasters off eBay and made the crochet coasters to fit them. Then I glued them to the cork using a hot glue gun. I used cotton (not acrylic) so I knew it wouldn’t melt.

This Labor government has been so disappointing. Their talk does not match their walk. And they’re so short-sighted. They didn’t win by a landslide last time and are struggling to hold on this time. They still haven’t grasped that moving further left, not right, will bring them more votes.

A fitting end is that he is sent to a Salvadoran gulag.

We always knew that corporate law was about money, not upholding the law. And the fascist, who needs to get the lawyers under his thumb so they’re not obstacles to his lawlessness, always knew they’d cave because of it. Because, ultimately, they’re like him: driven by the holy dollar.

Your country needs lawyers with integrity now more than ever!
