👋We have 2 amazing projects: A) basic molecular regulation of the LN lymphatic vasculature & B) lymphatic metastasis with new models & human samples describing completely new phenomena - both projects with solid preliminary data to build on. Open for interested postdoctoral scientists 📩

Join us for innovative explorations of the tumor microenvironment🔬 Learn cutting-edge technologies and grow in a dynamic environment💡 The postdoc will work alongside a doctoral student from @adaptmet.bsky.social, gaining access to collaborative partners across 🇪🇺. Apply now👇 tinyurl.com/4mby45hf

I'm delighted to host @ggargiul.bsky.social for a talk in the LUCC seminar series today. Medicon Village Auditorium @ 1.30 - you don't want to miss out if you're in Lund! Welcome!

Hot off the press! 🧬🔬 We developed in utero nano-injection to label & trace the mouse neural plate and otic placode using next generation single cell lineage tracing. We couple progenitors to mature cell types in the CNS & resolve the lineages of cells in the hearing organ: doi.org/10.1126/scie...

📣 Online now! Our study shows how recurrent focal deletions constitute a mechanism by which cancer cells can dampen toxicity due to gene amplification. www.cell.com/cell-genomic... 🧵👇:

Huge congrats to @kpietraslab.bsky.social on this well-deserved recognition! 🙌🥳

"EMT favours the emergence of genomic-unstable, highly fit tumour cells, which strongly supports the concept of cell-state-restricted patterns of evolution" Exceptional work addressing a classic chicken & egg paradigm in cell-state-driven tumor evolution. Congrats Gianni, Luigi & teams!

Congratulations to winners of The Brain Prize 2025! Professors @michellemonje.bsky.social, @stanfordmedicine.bsky.social and @hhmi.org Investigator, and Frank Winkler, Heidelberg University Hospital, have pioneered the field of Cancer Neuroscience. Learn more: brainprize.org/winners/canc...

Exciting tech advance 4 cancer research: FFPE-CUTAC enables phenotype queries from archived FFPE tissues. This finds a striking correlation between hypertranscription of histones (but not ribosomal genes) & chromosome arm losses, hence, cancer evolution.

Come and join us at our annual meeting in Freiburg! There is still time to submit your abstract! Deadline 21.02.! 👇 www.matrixbiologie.de/annual-meeti...

At the Brain Tumor Microenvironment Symposium @institutducerveau.bsky.social, Sebastian Braun presented our comprehensive study of pericytes in GBM 🤩. Pericytes act as guardians of the peri-vascular niche to prevent malignant cell invasion, read more at www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

We're excited to be at the Institute du Cerveau in Paris for the brain tumor microenvironment symposium 🧠 Here's Pauline Jeannot with the first presentation of the day from the lab 🔥

We have been waiting impatiently but can finally share our latest efforts in understanding the biology of the TGF-beta type I receptor ALK1 (gene name ACVRL1), see graphical abstract in post and the full article here: www.jci.org/articles/vie... 1/6

End-of-the-year preprint & first 🧵 where the sky is blue! Ever wondered how a cancer driven by a single mutant oncogene becomes molecularly & cellularly heterogeneous? Why metastases share drivers w/primary tumors but are more aggressive?

The two Pietras labs @pietraslab.bsky.social @kpietraslab.bsky.social collide in a fierce game of Ping Pong. The losers fill all pipette tip boxes the next year 😜

I can't be more stoked to start my #scienceblue feed with this! OOPS WE DID IT AGAIN with @nabalabuic.bsky.social ! 🤩🤩🤩 And for the nerds, this is all in @rshiny.bsky.social ! #democratizescience #bigdataforall #ECMatrix

We are looking for future cancer researchers! The Advanced Cancer Biology course is offered at Lund University and provides both theoretical and practical preparation for doctoral studies in cancer research. Deadline for international admission: January 15, 2025. www.lucc.lu.se/education/ed...

1/23 Big news for the #ObenaufLab! So excited to finally share our new study providing another puzzle piece, why immunotherapy fails in many tumors, now out in @Nature 🧵👇 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Delighted to see this paper from Anna Blom's group published in its final form! 🎉 Huge congrats to @karolinasmolag.bsky.social and the entire team—another fantastic collaboration unraveling the roles of complement proteins in the GBM microenvironment. 👏🧠

Hello Bluesky, we are recruiting PhD students in cancer and metastasis biology! This is a fantastic program that brings together several leading European research institutes. Details here: adaptmet.eu/recruitment/

Meet our PhD student Rebecca! This year, she beat cancer AND published her first 1st-author paper on how hypoxia induces complement signaling in GBM, alters macrophage polarization, and how the C3-C3AR1 axis can be therapeutically targeted in GBM models. Check it out! insight.jci.org/articles/vie...

There are a lot of excellent Starter Packs available, but I didn’t see one focused on Neuro-oncology. If you want to be added to this list, please reply below! go.bsky.app/VgzHLtt

We love to explore unexpected findings 🤔 Check out our two latest studies detailing the unexplored expression of ALK1 in immunosuppressive macrophages and the critical role of pericytes as a paracrine signaling hub in GBM. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Cool new lineage tracing tool provides in vivo evidence that tumor regrowth following radiotherapy stems from cells that were hypoxic at the time of irradiation! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Our friends @kpietraslab.bsky.social made it over as well!

the undisputed MVP of brain tumor twitter just arrived!
