"If looks could kill" taken to a more descriptive level 😂

Hell yeah, I appreciate that you don't take any shit from these idiots lol
I want more of my leaders to be like you telling these wannabe fascists, "come at me, bro..." 🙂

Nope, I did not, sadly. None of this surprises me, which is why I left a year and a half ago.

Out of curiosity, what's bad about it? Is the algorithm not as good, not enough content you want to follow, or too much politics or something?

And more importantly, ranked choice voting. As it stands, any vote that isn't for the Democratic and Republican Parties is akin to not voting at all.

Find a few people who aren't fascists to help you make a bid to buy TikTok.

I'm not gonna lie, the only thing I ever used Tumblr for back in the day was porn 😂
Tumblr feels like an old school social networking platform more in the vein of MySpace and it's a shame that people aren't as interested in that structure anymore and it's pretty different than TikTok.

Absolutely, the feeds you can build and subscribe to on Bluesky are really great and I find the main feed more useful than Mastodon's too. I also like how easy it is to subscribe to lists for following and blocking people here. This place is pretty friendly for non technical people.

Why do they think they can do this again when the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled previously it violates the Oklahoma Constitution? Newsflash, Christofascists, the Oklahoma Constitution hasn't been amended. And if it's amended in a way that excludes other religions, it's invalid by the US Constitution.

As much as I like Bluesky, I was hoping Mastodon would get more traction in the great X-odus. But its detractors are unfortunately correct that there's a bit of a learning curve over there.

Lol, this is wild, I would never have guessed this was Village People. Josh and Chuck did mention the new wave period, but I don't think they really dug into that.

Yep, that all sounds familiar. They don't go super in depth on most topics on that show, but it's generally a good surface-level.

This is true, and if anybody has some time to kill, Josh and Chuck talk about this and more on an episode of Stuff You Should Know:

Are you talking about Xennials or Zillennials? The latter has to be different IMHO because the pronunciation in real life conversation would otherwise be the same and Xennials was already taken by the X/Y tweeners.

There's not a single team in the playoffs I'd like to see win at this point.

Yep this is my only profile here. There are more people with my first name and last name in this world than just me and some of them are in the technology industry as well lol. (I'm also trying to stay partially anonymous here on Bluesky at the moment).

Why do we need 350,000 churches in America? Why do Christians need exclusive dominion over public spaces? I don't think this guy understands that he and other Christian nationalists are turning people off of Christianity.

I started realizing Christianity was bullshit gradually and then I slowly moved from agnosticism to atheism. I wouldn't say I ever needed deconstruction. But I've definitely had a process of rebuilding an identity and finding a community in Satanism, which is something I was missing as an atheist.

If Americans are united in hating health insurance, they need to fucking vote. Don't stay home. Vote against the party that wants to repeal a major piece of legislation that's made health insurance better over the last 15 years. Vote for the party that wants universal healthcare. It's that simple.
comment in response to
post
It's only apolitical for those who haven't been paying attention. One party wanted universal healthcare and settled for the ACA, which was at least undeniably a step forward. The other party has repeatedly tried to kill the ACA. Anybody voting for the GOP or abstaining is partially at fault here.

"They" in this comment is meant to refer to the vandals.

It's already happened. They've cracked the 7 tenets plaque. They'd already knocked the whole thing over during the hour and a half we spent at dinner after the unveiling. I don't think they understand that every crack shows how wrong they are.

I'm not sure if people are aware, but Brian Thompson wasn't anywhere close to being a billionaire. I see several sources saying he was at ~$43 million net worth. That's a lot of blood money, but billionaires are on a whole different level. Still squishy, but they definitely all have armed security.

I'd love to say I'm optimistic this will actually lead to meaningful change, but I just can't be optimistic when America collectively decided last month that the party with "concepts of a plan" to repeal and replace the ACA should be in charge of everything. People will forget about this in a month.

People also aren't fed up with the billionaire class considering they just voted for one to be president again in the US. Bluesky has kind of a skewed view of reality if people here think the targeted murder of an insurance CEO is a) to send a message, b) a good thing, & c) a start of a revolution.

That's one of many things. Here's a pretty good intro.
