but the fact that the election was so close does give me hope that they will meet some resistance from the people and that if they perform bad, they will lose by bigger margines next election.

Unfortunately, Poland has always been right wing. People overwhelmingly vote right in Poland because they are scared of "communism" and are a very Cristian nation.
