The options are, he can do whatever he wants, and you can sit there and take it and watch people die, or you can fight back, and he'll still do whatever he wants but atleast it won't be unopposed. He's harming queer people either way. Martial law or not. Atleast fight back.

UPDATE: I got the colours mixed up on my graph, my bad😅
comment in response to post
Oh wait no that's on me lmao, I may be a bit color-blind, I thought the graph was saying the majority of domestic terrorist attacks were left wing, I thought left was the light blue and right was the green😅 my bad
comment in response to post
I'm confused, they say in the first screenshot that individuals associated with left wing causes tend to be less likely to be violent, but that seems counter to the graph shown, so it makes me question the criteria of the graph, since it either includes non violent instances, or is contradictory

The irony in claiming to advocate against senseles violence while supporting israel

Nah, they generally have no problem with white sex traffickers being pardoned

Haven't ruled yet technically, in theory it's a temporary block of the trade courts order while trump appeals, so there's still a chance tarrifs dont stay, but I agree it's stupid they're basically just deciding a court order is meaningless until it's been taken to and fails appeal

I mean, they are just driven by that, so their actions make sense given their goals

The fact that they insist that a country is whatever its leadership says it is(regardless of what the majority of its citizens know it to be), but can't fathom the fact that an individual person is able to choose how to label themselves, is wild

And the united states of america are united😅

I'mma be honest, the statistics they shared are just also wrong, Our global peace index puts us in 11th place

It's not at owner's discretion, it's based on peer review. And there's no indication that verified accounts get literally any special treatment. If you don't care whether or not a post is actually from a real news site and not just some asshole, then by all means ignore or turn off the feature

We don't have to be the best in everything, and we can want change. Bragging about canada being great or better than other countries just comes across as supremacist like america. I'd be curious to see your sources for the rankings, because in most credible sources we're not even top 10 in education
comment in response to post
As a leftist, While I agree 100% go out there and vote, I also can see and say there are a lot of things wrong in our country right now, namely cost of living, shortage of medical professionals, issues of accessibility, and there's a lot of institutionalized racism against indigenous peoples.

I mean, it doesn't tell you to follow them? It literally just helps people avoid being scammed

Y'all are only a few months in and he's already sending people to labour camps, and talking about taking other sovereign territories by force, I'm not rooting for y'all's downfall, but as someone who's not american, I'm not going to trust a country where 70% of its population didn't vote against him

I feel like you should look a little more into the aftermath of what happened with germany after world war two😅 it was a very intensive, invasive, and long process to de-nazify germany, and was certainly not close to forgiving and forgetting

Misogyny and racism are both so heavily intertwined with transphobia, and people so often seem oblivious to it, it's wild

Sounds like the "operation" was an assassination

We can't pretend that americans have nothing to do with this. We can't pretend that it's just "one bad apple" that magically made it into the whitehouse. A majority of your population are responsible for this. No hate to you personally, but americans as a whole clearly do not hate him enough
comment in response to post
While as a canadian, I can empathize with the thought, but at the same time, ~30% of your population voted for him, and another ~40% didn't even vote. That means 70% of your population let this happen, and/or directly acted in furtherance of this.

Ben and Jerry's can't give free ice cream to people with "I voted" stickers, but Musk can offer a million dollars to people to incentivise them to vote? I mean that's pretty on par for america, but damn

Kidknapping

Now if only people would use that power when voting😅

Yes I agree fully, I just think it's important to also acknowledge that we're still fighting for an actual liveable wage for everyone, so that that fight doesn't die Even though we're doing better than america, well that's honestly such a low bar😅
comment in response to post
Kinda, but the fight for a living wage is still an ongoing battle in canada as well
comment in response to post
Hot take, this should have americans on the phone right now complaining
comment in response to post
While I agree with your point, I feel it important to correct that that's not the minimum wage in canada, that's specifically the minimum wage for workers in the federal sector, our general minimum wages are set by province/territory, the lowest being 15CAD/h in sask, the highest is 19 in nunavut

"Don't worry, you don't have to pay taxes, you just have to pay 10k a year for your kid to go to school, 500$ to file a police report, and another 1-10k for the investigation, 50$ to send a letter, 25-50k a year subscription to use the roads, and a 100k yearly subscription to not be deported!"

Atleast 4 years, but I'd guess closer to 50

Anyways dude I'm tired and low on spoons, I can't keep arguing, I wish you the best and encourage you to be more inclusive of disabled voices in your activism
comment in response to post
Okay? I see you interacting with someone whose decisions are medically necessary and saying you hope they make better choices in the future? Which implies them taking care of their health is a bad decision?
comment in response to post
Okay, you're welcome to your perception of the situation even if it differs from mine
comment in response to post
Something can be ableist without targetting every disabled person, so when I say that vegan absolutism has ableist factors, and you say it's ableist for me to say disabled people face accessibility issues, then it seems more you misspoke than I misrepresented
comment in response to post
Thank you for providing a single study which doesn't even contradict what I'm sayimg, that study is in a specific controlled inpatient environment, and specifically regarding cardiovascular health
comment in response to post
I'm sorry you use disabled people as props to invalidate other disabled people
comment in response to post
Well then should I also ask you to explain why you think having a disabled friend lets you tell other people whether or not they should be vegan? And again, if I were trolling, I wouldn't have reached amicable conclusions with most of the people I talked to here
