In terms of Imagi-Nation lore, the Steyersrich Kpw W3 "Lynx" is a light cavalry vehicle armed with a light autocannon and MG.
Its supurb all-terrain suspension makes it ideal for pathfinding missions and it's not uncommon to find it roving miles ahead of light mechanized formations.

Raycast physics never fucking work. The goddamn shit spazzes out no matter what I do.
CharacterBody3D sorta gets there but EVERYTHING has to be programmed manually and I fuck that up.
The built in VehicleBody3D is garbage and everyone tells me so.

I'm not going to be one of the RETVRN guys and claim they ruined 40k. It may just be I desire more grounded and nuanced wargames at this point in my life. But I won't lie and say I'm jealous of a time a single Predator tank was a commanding presence on the battlefield.

I compare one of the biggest, dumbest tanks humanity ever put on the field to the Guard's current superheavy MBT and I'm just exhausted thinking about shooting it.
Profiles are far too wide to mean much to me. I just don't enjoy the "everything is extra" fantasy like I used to.

I'm currently on a historical-adjacent kick and it's weird going from piles of guns on treads to a single man in a squad with a machine gun being an existential threat.
The need for every unit to one up the next really hurts the fantasy of combined arms warfare IMO.
