I agree that healthy families operate in truth. It is simplistic and cruel to suggest everyone in an unhealthy family is a terrible person, though. Sometimes people do the best they can in an awful situation when every choice is hard and terrible.

1) Yes. Three years ago, I would not have agreed. Listening & reading have changed my mind. And still, I never examined adoption as a system until both my parents were deceased. They loved me & I loved them. And I wasn’t free to say what I thought (or even investigate it) until they were gone. 🥚

Looking forward to listening today. Egg donation exploits donors and the children created by their donation. Biological connections matter immensely, and the children are denied that basic human rights through anonymous egg donations. Glad someone is keeping the conversation going.

Instead of society constantly asking adoptees, "why are you so angry?," I like to ask society, "why aren't you angry, too?"🥚

I just googled it to see for myself. Enough people must've done the same thing because the AI overview has been updated. Now it says, "No, the Titanic's swimming pool is not filled with water in the way it was intended." 😄

That's not how laws are made, though. Under a normal US presidential administration, rather than an authoritarian regime, laws are made through the legislature branch, and there's a whole process. This is not normal.

Currently, even immigrants who are here legally are being deported. Under a normal administration that would be an appropriate question. Under this regime, it wouldn't matter either way. This is not normal.

I am also low contact and couldn't even begin to imagine the level of trouble participating in something like this would cause. 😬

Sheesh! If we have to depend on the courage of the House and Senate, there is no hope. They've made it clear they have little to no courage to do what's right. I'll depend on the courage of the American people instead and hope they don't disappoint.

She won't resign, and strongly worded speeches won't make her. Do something of substance.

I don't know if the link works, but it's Miley Cyrus talking about EMDR and her experience as the daughter of an adopted woman. It gives me chills just writing about it because it was so powerful when I watched it. Look it up if the link doesn't work. It's worth hearing.

I saw this yesterday. The children of adoptees are impacted by our relinquishment and adoption. It needs to be discussed more openly. www.instagram.com/reel/DKaSWG_...

Thank you for sharing. It was an eye-opening article, and I doubt this isolated incident was so isolated. The final paragraph was so dismissive of the truth of the story reported, I wonder if the author understood the gravity of what was shared.
