You're certainly not wrong per se, but it just shows that our current medical restrictions aren't transing kids unnecessarily

it's worth putting in context that vanishingly few medical interventions have satisfaction rates that high. www.americanjournalofsurgery.com/article/S000...

I know I say this all the time but my number one double standard in modern politics is how liberal political movements are collectively responsible for everyone in their country with vaguely lefty vibes, and conservatives are given a pass for the actions of their self-selected official leadership.

"Sure, the US federal government is deploying agents dressed like they're in Helldivers II onto the streets of dense cities to tear gas journalists filming ICE kidnapping people off the streets, but someone brought a Mexican flag to the protest, and that's the real tragedy this week."

I said the same thing when Newsom suggested using AI to solve traffic. The AI will conclude "put everyone on a bus or train" and then Newsom will ignore it.

contained fusion reactions can't _just_ produce a lot of energy, they need to produce a lot of energy _more cheaply than current nuclear power._ Can it do that? I don't know! but i've also only ever heard people talking about fusion as if it's free energy when it's not.
comment in response to post
i'm aware of how energy dense fusion is, and if we could simply burn it in open air, that would be the end of the discussion but we can't. if fusion energy costs $10/kWh and the most expensive alternative costs $5/kWh then fusion power will never be anything more than a science experiment.
comment in response to post
But more to the point, I've never heard anyone talk about how expensive fusion energy is supposed to be, even once we solve the technical issues. We're already running fusion experiments that cost $1 billion, and Science research is good, but I don't see fusion power being commercially viable.

They want a white country, for white people, and more than that they want to reduce nonwhite people to subordinate class they can abuse, deport, and torture with impunity. That is what is in the deepest recesses of their black nativist hearts: hurting immigrants for their own gratification.

as i was leaving X, mainstream reporters and citizen journalists were being kicked off the platform for reporting on elon musk. many of us left the platform because we wanted a place to share our work without being censored or throttled. that’s why i left.
