I'm bothered by "outdoor" profiles that use AI to create perfect/utopian "photos". I'm initially impressed until something doesn't seem quite real. AI is easy and fun. But it uses an insane amount of energy and natural resources, especially fresh water. I don't 💙 AI photos. #rant

Hard call, best call? Today was good hiking. However, the opportunities to get off trail to avoid downpours, even snow in the days ahead created logistical problems. With wet clothing, hypothermia becomes a concern. Four votes for heading home. #appalachiantrail #backpacking #hiking

Using redundant waterproof sacks. My Nylofume liner is in its 3rd season and has a tiny hole. Can't find the spare. Expecting rain most days. Extra socks. 16.8 lbs base, Need to add sleep pad; either 1lb +1oz or 1lb +3 1/2oz (better sleeping) #backpacking #appalachiantrail #hiking

Dear @bsky.app I love the ALT feature for photos and the amazing amount of characters available to provide additional descriptive inform. But I have been frustrated having to start over after trying to edit and loosing everything I entered as it dissapears. After 3 tries I usually give up.
