It’s what he was planning to do his first term when he assassinated their general, but Iran knew it was bait and ignored him.

And the dems knew she was one of the least likely candidates to win about a year before the election, according to their internal polling.

Do you have a link to the poll?

I like the way the directors use grief as a medium for horror in both “Bring Her Back” and “Talk to Me”. Bring her back though has so much body horror, combined with dealing with kids makes it heartbreaking. Yet I’m glad they pulled no punches, making it unrealistic.

I’m not a big fan of the changes made to Ellie from a mature lesbian (game) to an immature baby lesbian (tv show). I wasn’t mad at the change at first, especially since the actress looks young still, but I wish the character was developed in a way that makes a bit more sense.

Nope I’ve been in plenty of left organizing spaces and ones that don’t have a good conversation about anti black racism within non white communities as well as white communities are never really welcoming for black people. There are so many proven limits to class solidarity in history.

@msolurin.bsky.social she deserves a follow! I didn’t know she made it to Bluesky

100% I agree with you. YouTube always recommends Shulz and I always got racist vibes from him. I like Bernie’s policy positions as an economist he and Elizabeth Warren were the only ones who had policies to directly help black folks. I understand trying to reach white boys, but I’d rather no Shulz

I think you can admit the democrats have their issues, but republicans are way worse. After all the protests on police brutality and racism, when Biden came in office he increased spending on policing. It’s healthy and important to critique the Democratic Party. It’s how you get better policy.

This isn’t the own you think it is… many people vote for the president and nothing else, but this is only a few thousand votes different. Bernie supported Harris as the dem nominee. They both won his state. On the other hand in the dem primary in 2020 she had to withdraw with less than 1% support.

I did! Thanks for the correction!

I finally watched last season and hated how they tried to uplift Serena Joy. I personally think conservative women shouldn’t be shielded from the consequences of their actions. I’m glad the show is done, but I would love if you would compare the book to the show. Sister Lydia book vs show! 🤯

You’re going to have me reading the books again! I loved your take on the epilogue.

Isn’t that what they mean by “MAGA” anyway?! Nazis saw the reservations, ghettos, Jim Crow laws, and created their own versions. Hitler’s American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law www.law.nyu.edu/sites/defaul...

Do you have a link to the cops saying why? I just knew that they were reported often and no one stopped it.

I think Pete would have been better off running for senate or governor in Michigan he was only a small town mayor and needs more experience. While I think AOC is ready for the national stage I could see a presidential run or a senate run in her future.

Idk if you remember when the Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark stuff was going out one white girl spoke up for Reese in such a knowing way. Her step mom who raised her since she was little is a black woman and her siblings are black. I think her name is Paige Bueckers

You’ve been my senator my whole life. I would encourage you to work with @warren.senate.gov who has some amazing ideas on how to address tech companies. Meta is a monopoly that needs to be broken up it stifles competition and decreases technological development. Regulate the algorithms to stop hate

We disagree on this issue and that’s ok. He can write if he wants I just don’t think that his focus is right at this moment. I don’t need to write a book to say that.

most of the kids receive subsidized lunch. When that’s gone a lot of kids will go hungry. If he was using the book tour to create some sort of central messaging of how to fight against the current administration or elect democrats I would have more faith in him. I see him as empty in messaging

The book, in and of itself, doesn’t bother or harm me. I simply wish that someone else was the house minority leader. Right now I’m trying to see how the cuts to social security, food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, etc will leave millions of Americans destitute. Locally I’m pushing gardening because

If he was just a random congressman it really wouldn’t matter. As the leader of democrats in the house he has continued to fail. Jasmine Crocket, AOC, or other members of the house would be better in the position as house minority leader.

This is false look at the county level down south. Trump won by 80% in many counties that don’t have a high black population. Compare that to similarly racial breakdowns in the Midwest and it’s closer to 55% or 60%. I could do a more robust analysis but it’s obvious. www.cnn.com/election/202...
comment in response to post
Mainly it’s the black folks down south who are gerrymandered. The rest is a whole bunch of white folks who reliably vote republican.

Reading comprehension is so low for gen z. I think this would correlate with lower critical thinking for a lot of information that’s presented to them.

Just an fyi, most people don’t even have cable so how would they watch msnbc? I think that’s why people didn’t even hear democratic messaging in the election. 2/3rds of Gen Z and Millennials don’t have cable. For Gen X it’s 60%. 50% of boomers still have cable. www.statista.com/statistics/3...

Like all places where people live there are wars for resources, religion, or other beliefs. Until we have a more equitable way to live, I believe it will remain this way.
comment in response to post
There were wars between different groups for thousands of years of recorded history in what we now call the Middle East. So I wouldn’t act like it’s pure western influence. The first Arab conquests of the region happened around 650, several hundred years before the first crusade.

One thing to think of is that social security is not meant for you to rent. It’s not enough if you don’t own property. For the most part you can sell property and move somewhere else too if you grow tired of that place.
