It seems more accurate to say "lost" rather than "losing". If you listen closely to CA & EU leaders, they're all clearly stating "it's over". This is like the guy who thinks his ex-GF will forgive him and come back; but she's already moved on, working on her new life without him and all his drama.

Wakam & Aviva are group insurance arrangements like unions/univs offer their members. In USA, Markel (group ins name State Natl) underwrote Tesla, but now Tesla started their own separate ins company.

Went to see what Insurance Business had to say re this and learned Musk started Tesla Insurance. He can afford the reserves needed, but looks like it's off to a bad start; reporting a net underwriting loss of $42 million over first 9 months of last year.

I think we may see some fighting over this. Lots of Florida hurricane claims were denied based on policyholders not having flood insurance. Insurers were quick to split hairs on wind (hurricane) damage vs. water (flood) damage. Florida gov wasn't happy but insurers didn't back down and keep denying.

Tesla owners/dealers need to buy TRIA insurance (Terrorism Risk Insurance Act). Like adding hurricane, flood or quake cover to a home policy, there's an extra cost. Enacted after 9/11, the federal US gov acts as reinsurer to pay terrorism claims. This will cost fed gov more. DOGE should investigate.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Using the "terrorism" label is going to backfire on Tesla dealerships and Tesla owners who want to claim damages under insurance. Vandalism and/or Fire are covered perils, but Terrorism is excluded. Insurance companies are now in a position to deny claims.
