A new world from PseudoFossil! 😮 They also made MKRS, which was inspired by Signalis (but you don't have to have played to appreciate) and has similar texture style. They are different, but if you enjoyed Ultra-Fantastic Movement, I highly recommend MKRS as well. vrchat.com/home/world/w...

While these definitely don't represent the majority of use cases, it would certainly open up more potential for large gathering type events using VRC as a platform. Some of the above could even be done with 3rd party solutions if we had better/faster ways to externally network data via udon.

Alternatively a way to impostorize (or even just positionally represent) non-friends/non-hosts in an instance to feel large crowd presence without having to load everyone's avatars/voice/tracking data would allow for a higher user cap, if the limit truly is on the client.

Having a way for a small subset of hosts to be "broadcast" over multiple instances (having their physical state/voice sent to a collection of instances while only receiving from a single instance) would be one possible solution. Akin to Zoom Webinars.

Special thanks to @digitherobot.bsky.social for adopting my friends and I in VRChat and without whom the world would not exist; ~Iridescent~ for their multi-decade friendship and support; Legendary Rio and frost sodalis for their help testing; and DullEyeMob for the original world idea.

Hadn't heard of Starsector before but seemed up my alley, and now can confirm. Thought it was still midnight when it was actually 2:45am 😑Also my fleet is dead.

I've heard one other report of it now, but in my own testing and those I've asked I've not experienced any issues. Could you describe what you're seeing that isn't working?

Thanks for the heads up! I'll look into it.

Didn't realize that was a stream :O Thought it was just Unity Text UI element and Udon, but thinking about it now I get why. Impressive!

That's @digitherobot.bsky.social for me. I don't have much variety in bases, but I love being able to ask for stuff like MMD visemes or making a Halloween outfit, and she makes it happen far beyond my own capacity. I don't have FT (yet), but she's already got that covered if I do. So it is a thing!

Apparently I'm not in any of the sorts of groups that hold the kinds of activities that would qualify me for it 😆So I guess I'll be waiting til the new year at least.

I usually just make a few Probuilder planes and call it a day, so anywhere between 4 and 40 😉

Also the pre-existing persistence features using my old system have also been migrated to VRChat's system as well. This now also includes things like Result Count and Search Performance.

Here's a picture of the new Special Search Function button for it, and now with icons for all of them as well. To add a favorite, search some avatars and just click the star in the top right of the avatar pedestal details panel, and click again to remove.

It's hard to overstate how revolutionary this will be for the future of VRChat. Most awaited feature for me even above Udon2. Super excited to see what is made with it, what existing things that will be upgraded to make use of it, and to start coming up with new ideas of my own!

And if there is, does that scale infinitely? If turning a thousand dollars down is respectable, what about a million? Or would it be stupid to value my own self respect over that? Made up those amounts entirely, but I hope my point is made. At what point do you compromise? (7/7)

It's hard to write this without feeling like I'm bragging, but I've been called foolish enough that I genuinely want to get outside perspectives. Am I foolish? Is there justification in standing by my principles, even if the thing I'm against is otherwise normal practice? (6/7)

To me the world is my creative contribution to the VRChat community; providing something I believe is beneficial to everyone, and I want it to be as unobtrusive as possible as an expression of my vision/values, with no worry of ulterior motive to profit off others' works. (5/7)

But at the same time I've been called foolish for holding this stance. Told it's something normal/expected that many other successful worlds do, and that even if I don't need the money I could be putting it toward good causes, and that to not do so only serves my own pride. (4/7)

I admit that I don't like ads, but I do respect their place and others' usage of them both to earn money and to promote some genuinely good products. I don't need the money myself though, and personally feel they detract/distract from the thing they're included in/with. (3/7)

I've been offered not-insignificant sums of money on several occasions by various companies to put ads in Prismic's Avatar Search. The requests have always been respectful, but I've turned every one down based on my own principles and desires for the project to be ad free. (2/7)
