U.S. will watch with the indifference of an Alabama redneck too busy worrying about egg prices to care. Post-war order has been gutted by oligarchs and tech bros chasing tax breaks and obscene wealth. Nazism is back. We either fight, or we’ll be thrown out the window by Putler. The choice is ours.

Happy to change my mind and apologise to the OP. Too many fakes and it was a knee-jerk reaction.
OP, my apologies

Dedicate some space for LXC/VM backups. Do some reading on how best to configure your overall storage. Charm of Proxmox is the ability to spin on and off different toys for your homelab, so backup is critical if you screw up. But it tends to snowball size wise, so plan accordingly

You can also try to run that on a solar powered Casio calculator.
No, jokes apart, why would you? It runs pretty ok on a RPi3 and I have long migrated running it on a VM on Proxmox

3kW? Wow, that a lot of sun. Obviously you're not in the UK :)

Literally any that has an USB and is supported by Nut. Just put a small/old RPi with a Nut Server on its USB port and then add the Nut Integration in Home Assistant

Don't be surprised when populists then win elections. Moral high ground? My arse.

I wonder how many socially visiting Moscow tourists have had the opportunity to be on a photo-op with Vladimir Putin after their aunt signed a corrupted deal personally enriching her family with more than 3bn USD. #putin

"The inquiry also looked into her presence at the signing of a 2013 nuclear deal between her aunt and Vladimir Putin in Moscow. The adviser accepted her explanation that she had been there only socially and as a tourist."

Are you migrating to docker or proxmox LXCs, btw?
I’ve spent a whole day yesterday to setup a PCI passthrough for my GPU to a VM, I hope your USB challenges will be less of a pain

While I agree the SLZB06 is a good one (I’m using it), migrating from one coordinator to another is a major pain…

I’m a bit sceptical here. Apple’s push into home automation is not new and I’m not sure how successful they’ve been with Apple HomeKit in an already overcrowded space. Surely Threads will help unify this fragmented space, but it’s a minefield for a company that sells “just works” technology

Are you running HA in a VM or LXC?

He definitely looks like Hanlon’s razor demonstration 🤣

I’ve been rediscovering raw YAML recently, especially with the kind support of ChatGPT. It does quite a good job of spitting out nice automations if you prompt it right.

The leavening curve is absolutely manageable, quite homelab friendly platform

I was initially planning to run it in a LXC on Proxmox, but there’s a substantial body of evidence it’s preferable to run it as a VM, regardless of the higher RAM usage. Not sure how does it compare to Docker though

Name and shame. In all honesty it might be just a rage bait to inflate engagement, but Hanlon’s razor tells a different story
