MARK #2: The Missouri board is the second to schedule a hearing about test invalidity on this topic! We are pushing for: Rapid retesting. Individual score reviews by boards. Equilibration studies from ASWB. Board counsel statement on legal defensibility of licensure decisions during this time

2010: I want to be a therapist! 2012: I want to study why social welfare systems are dehumanizing 2014: Other people figured it out already. 2016: We know how to make things better, we just lack political power to actualize it. 2025: Organizing's fun but laws and elections don't matter anymore

Pete Hegseth, in a congressional hearing, just refused to commit to abiding by any court decisions about Marines in Los Angeles.

Tonight a colleague and I are taking the message to P4P National...directly to graduating students. Tomorrow, a colleague and I are taking the message to the Missouri board of social work which entered this blog post into the agenda alongside the NCME testing standards it references.

Rollerblading is fun, actually. It's your late thirties and the cringe is easy.

May be live-skeeting the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors meeting today. We'll see if they decide to take themselves off of mute first...

Has anyone used Mailslurp, Snov.io or similar to track student engagement with program emails at their university? I know most unis don't have a CRM. I'm trying to find a route around.

LibreOffice doesn't pop up Writer every day to ask me why I haven't purchased it. MSOffice does that with Word now, for some reason?

......and another project gets added to the Fall queue

This all very clearly proves that Britta was right about everything.

Immigrant rights protest, Norristown, PA.

Lol, we made it, ma!

EXTREMELY BAD NEWS for economic research, per former BLS Commissioner @ericagroshen.bsky.social on LinkedIn. BLS is suspending access to its restricted data "for the forseeable future." Applies to projects through the Federal Statistical Research Data Centers & onsite projects with BLS. #EconSky

GIVERS. Opening for Ra Ra Riot

Get absolutely bodied, you ghouls.

must be incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have federal funding that was promised to you for important work suddenly and arbitrarily ripped away

I have no idea whether this is a good sign or a bad sign, but Missouri 's social work board put my blog post into their meeting materials for next Friday along with the entire NCME Testing Standards. 😳😳😳 opensocialwork.org/2025/05/17/a...

Autarky forever!

We conclude with four steps to abolition–(1) removing exam requirements through legislation, (2) scrapping exam fees for licensee-seekers in inflexible states, (3) paying reparations to test-takers gatekept by biased qualifying exams, and (4) anti-trust enforcement against ASWB and its member boards

I think this is the same approach that aphex twin uses to name tracks. That's why so many of them have pseudonyms

RL Grime said he was giving up on Halloween mixes, right? Can we just have HOL! take over? Seems like it would work, no? www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3EP...

the @coffeezilla.bsky.social of social work, here. Not as cute, tho.

Probably the most influential book I read on my adult career was Remix by Lessig. It is horrifying that LLMs and genAI is the remix culture we get because only oligopolies can legally reuse copyrighted works...including now, apparently, everyone else's copyrighted works, too.

I cannot believe I'm going to have to look up circumvention techniques just to do literature searching on my phone while my kids are at soccer practice or whatever.
