UCU have misled their members for years IMO. Not long ago, they said the sector was awash with cash. Perennial strikes and blaming VC salaries let policy makers off the hook for a system doesn’t work for HEIs, research or students, and UCU can’t suddenly pivot to the facts now. Tragic.
