might be a hot take but i don't like retiring numbers in soccer. not only does the sport use so few of them, but imo it's a more meaningful tradition to have a player earn a coveted number. i don't want to never see a 13 playing for san diego, it'd be a lot cooler to see the number evolve.

Computers used to scream every time they connected to the Internet. They knew. They tried to warn us. We did not listen.

It's 20 mins before the sounders v atletico game and the cheapest tickets are $60 for the upper terraces and $200 at the lower stands. If you want people to attend on a work day then you might want to lower the prices to attract people who are available at that time.

How am I just finding out the games are FREE to watch on DAZN.

Last thing on Saka for today. His stance that people who don't live in west seattle shoudn't have input, is stupid and undemocratic. Yes we have districts but we are one city. Saka votes on city wide measures, he's the head of the city's transportation committee, and he's using city funds.

I would make the argument that some of the points in favor of this could also be applied to the creation of legal graffiti walls.

Seattle is affected by this thinking. That we need "play consultants" and kids only play at parks. "Doorstep play matters". Kids play differently on their street. Anyone can join. Parents can watch from a window. WA new Shared Streets law can fix this. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Saka compares curby to a border wall because to such a small man even a little curb looks like a wall. He made a mountain out of a mole hill, then he failed to climb the mountain.

Saka sent emails, he ran for city council, he actually got elected, he was made chair of transportation, and he got a $2M budget approved...all to remove curby. But now he's compromising and curby isn't going anywhere. People enabled him and he still failed, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

The sounders social media really loves photoshopping graffiti onto our city and it's annoying. The city has declared war on graffiti, but everywhere I turn it's used for promotions. Rather than creating some illusion of culture they should push back against the city and create actual graffiti.

Amazing! Small but impactful, and completed quickly, cheaply, and without fuss. CM Saka, chair of the transportation committee, spent years to get $2M to remove a safety feature and just ended up compromising. Curby stays and now a bus lane is parking during off peak, how it's helpful...idk.

Some Seattle graffiti that gets more relevant by the day. (Zoom in to spot someone's perfect addition to the original graffiti.)

Saka is legitimately an unhinged idiot who weaponizes racial justice to silence critics. SDOT put in curby for safety and he's claiming that removing it is for safety, and frankly I trust the transportation experts.

Pretty big inditement of SDOT when this gets through their review process. Most people won't notice or care, but no one in the room who works for SDOT noticed that they weren't using their own iconography?

Wake up babe, Seattle’s first Bike Line dropped this weekend linktr.ee/fifabikeline

Most of Seattle's city council members are just stupid. We could really use more people calling them out on blatantly ignorant points at these meetings. They say whatever they want unchecked and then many people who don't know better take them at their word.

Takes a year and a petition to get the city to fix a safety issue of their own making, but if you report some graffiti then they'll get right on it. Seattle's priorities in a nut shell.

One of my Seattle hot takes is that we should use eminent domain to move carter subaru outside the center of ballard. They have like 4 separate parking lots taking up some of the most useful land in the neighborhood. We could have a park and apartment buildings instead of dealership parking lots.

I think that my reception of 'abundance' is colored by the fact that I listened to the audio book while running rather than reading it.

The stunt design oscar should be added this year and not in 2027, and then Ballerina should win it. There were entire sequences where I was stunned in amazement, they went for it and it shows. One of the best movies to see in theaters, the sound effects really hit.

Checked fb marketplace today and someone is giving away pallets of bricks for free in Seattle...just in time for some more ice protests
