Well, you’ll find a generous community there when you do. Our MissionGenealogy.substack.com has turned into something of a welcome wagon when you’re ready.

I was reliably posting 3-4 times a week until January. After the inauguration it had to stop. It’s been all #FamilyHistory ever since. Virtually everything is in the lovely, caring genealogy community on Substack. Ask me about the #Genealogy welcome wagon. 🥰

I've always thought of this as the "Rashomon effect" and have thought recently about how family historians could leverage that to make their #Genealogy projects interactive and interesting to younger generations.
Have you? Let's talk!
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashomo... and a great Kurosawa flick)

Exactly. I thought it a fascinating perspective that made me think of projects that would create opportunities for multiple views on important events.
I’m not quite sure how, but here in America #familyhistory is living through some seriously divisive times. 🧐
It’s actually not about heroes.

There's just no part of that that isn't fun — especially to little girls at that flow-y stage in life.
Add long mu'u mu'us and a good time is had by all. Ask any 8-year-old.
#Mayday is #Leiday in Hawai'i.

All I remember from elementary school was being taught to skip around carrying sticks tied to the ribbons of the pole.
As we all skipped around the pole, we wove in and out of each other and over the course of a song the ribbons would be woven around the pole. Hawaiian music, lots of leis.

I love that, @cerydwyn.bsky.social! #Memories #GenHour
When we first moved to Hawaii I was still in elementary school and I remember being enchanted with May Poles... Though likely brought by missionaries, but they were quickly adopted into "Lei Day" celebrations.

Oh, @photogenealogy.bsky.social it's your #FamilyHistory #Genealogy #OldPhoto #Oldskool timeline that stole the show though...
You even nailed the demo! eh, @yycphoto.bsky.social?
Loved it. When I say "platform-independent" I mean it... paper is a platform! 🤭 I love 'em all.

It was such an honor to be present for the celebration of life for May Tom last December. It's a tremendous reminder that storytelling can take so many forms these days.
