We can’t — and shouldn’t — give in to Russia’s constant nuclear blackmail. Only Ukraine can decide when and if they should stop fighting.

We need to continue to make clear to Russia that the consequences of a nuclear strike — even a low yield nuclear strike — on Ukraine would be untenable for the Russian Federation. This is a time for NATO to be unified in its resolve.

Finally, green-lighting ATACMS on Russian soil shouldn’t been seen as escalatory by the United States — it’s simply allowing Ukraine to fight the war they’ve been handed. They didn’t seek this conflict, but they should be allowed to defend themselves and their sovereignty.
