In ancient rocket culture, it is considered a sign of significant disrespect to explode.

This isn't just "does he know how to appeal to the masses", its "does he know how to get in the room when he isn't invited" or "does he know how to make someone regret not inviting him"

It wasn’t just that it was transparently bad faith trolling, but that it was so separate from any actions the administration was taking. There was no second order step to those posts or to his account, the whole purpose was just because he wanted to shitpost.

He could have made jabs about the Iran stuff too, called anyone who disagreed with him an antisemite, but he didn’t want to discuss anything that the President of the United States was actually doing, he wanted to “dunk” on the libs.

The thing about this whole mess that really crystallized how the whole account is just surface level trolling was that the Trump admin is actually dealing with a major issue right now, but Vance instead chose to jab at trans kids.

You're not alone; give me all the buttons, knobs, and switchs. I don't know how or in what industry, but I legit think there's some sort of market for simple but effective mechanisms for very specific tasks. No need for this fanatical obsession internet connection and a million features.

A system where, every time a development is proposed, a motley assortment of random people with too much free time show up and shriek as part of an ad hoc, politicized review process (and the wealthier among them lawyer up to impose their preferences) is neither (a) planning nor (b) democratic.

Ben Shapiro - broke theatre critic.
Seriously, the difference between his review of Wicked and everything else he’s ever done is huge.

Mamie Eisenhower to Jackie Kennedy: oh, you need a wheelchair two weeks after your C-section? Weak, you really are pathetic.
President Eisenhower to President-elect Kennedy: INVADE LAOS NOW!!!!

One thing that I found helped me was the 3-5-8 method. Breathe in for a count of three, hold it for a count of 5, breathe out for a count of eight. It helps slow your breathing down, which helped me a lot.

Honestly, like all things in Hellenistic warfare, Alexander did it better.

Stephen Miller is in charge not because of his intellect, skill, charisma, judgment, achievements, or really anything else, not even because he's a lying, screaming psychopath. He's in charge because unlike everyone else in this administration he is willing to work a solid 30 hours a week.
