Hegseth is openly threatening to mobilize Marines out of Camp Pendelton.

10USCs12406 under "protection of federal property" excuse is to provoke/stage a violent response, which then gives Trump justification to invoke Insurrection Act as prepped back on April 8th. Posse Comitatus effectively no longer matters.

The point though is that the Insurrection Act has been in the chamber ready to be fired since April 8th when the Committee allowed it. At sole discretion of POTUS, posse comitatus evaporates. He just needs a little violent flash as an excuse.

For the "parade." Because there could no other reason to have that much armoured materiel in the capitol district just handy nearby.

Just like the Maidan movement, and the 8-month long daily Georgian protests, and the Arab spring, and your own Revolution, it will by then be illegal; but it will be the moral and democratic and necessary thing to do.

So, if you are American and reading this, please plan to join the protests and marches organizing across your country for April 19th. It may the last time you can do it legally. Then, if you can, join the planned Mayday encampment on the DC Mall beginning May 1st.

In what I'm sure is completely unrelated news, April 20th is also Hitler's birthday.

That means the date that the Committee will deliver its findings and recommendations, and it is clear what those will be, is right around the corner, on April 20th. Here is a good overview of what may be coming after that: medium.com/@aletheisthe...

In the past, this was always used with loud, proud, self-imposed limits, especially in time of use, as if, though needed, it were done in extreme distaste. This time, it will likely be the first step in ending the Republic permanently.

Once enacted, it is only ended when the executive says so. That is why the committee must consider deeply and carefully and, by statute, a minimum of three months from the date struck.

It means any protest, any speech, any group or person can legally be declared enemies of the state, which therefor brings the full might of its military down upon the offender. It means the legal shift of the Republic to authoritarian rule.

In fact, it is essentially a declaration of (the possibility that the government can at any time unilaterally and arbitrarily make) war upon its own citizens.

In short, it is a declaration of martial law. However, people usually take that to mean an emergency response that is mostly just a strict curfew to ensure emergency responders can do their work without endangering the populace. That is a very wrong conception.

It gives broad, unrestrained power to use the military to suppress "civil disorder" which becomes redefined as anything the president says it is, and which becomes equal to insurrection and rebellion.

The essence of this power is in its replacement of the Posse Comitatus statute, allowing the use of regular military troops and materiel domestically, against anyone the President deems a threat, including citizens.

In reality, this Committee's "findings" have been pre-decided by Project 2025 for a long time now.

The purpose of such a committe, by satute, is to study and advise whether a particular situation meets the criteria for declaration of insurrection and in turn allowing the powers of the Act, which are horribly extensive, to be used by the executive, giving it extreme unilateral power.

This was the order to strike an Insurrection Act Advisory Committee, regarding Trump's assertion that undocumented immigrants constitute an invasion and meet the Act's definitions.

Back on January 20th, Trump's inauguration day, and the first of several days of executive orders, the most critical of his acts slipped past most media reports, being apparently less sexy than all the other noise.

It reminded me of an important upcoming date, which could indeed see the US cross the Rubicon. It's a date that has been mostly forgotten in all the constant hullabaloo of the last three months, and that might be exactly the point of all the craziness.

3/3: Research shows that non-violent protests work much more reliably than violence, and 3.5% mobilization has never failed to precipitate regime change (look up the "3.5% Rule"). Sustained/repeated marches increase turn out and make change, so let's see some more of this!

2/3: Estimates for today's protests in the US were between 3 and 5 million. If we split the difference and say 4, that's about 1% of the population. Historically, over 3% is needed on the streets to move institutional groups from supporting to abandoning or opposing a regime.

Bullies. This is the most classic, core attitude of bullies. And is why they should always be punched in the face.
