Yeah I've been doing that as well. Building character models as a precursor to potentially using them in the game. Again, it just all takes time.
What I'm actually expressing a wish for here is a longer uninterrupted block of time where I could concentrate on the idea and build momentum.

I'm not sure if I'd say that's the case. I think it's just overemphasized. Or over-assigned by the curriculum. It's a good starting point when you're like 10 years old but to still be doing it in high school (as I had to do) is busywork. :P

Man, do I know that feel. Creating character models is a ton of work, and then after you finish you realize you still haven't actually *done* anything with it yet. So all that weeks or months of work you did was really just to get you to the point where you can start working.
