Have to say, I'm not a fan of this approach. If you don't think your process is leading to rapid enough equalisation of performance, change the damn process don't just fiddle the numbers! (Specifically, in this case, I would weight more recent races more heavily in the rolling average).

FFS stewards make your damn minds up is this offence the driver's fault or the team's fault, and is it a sporting problem or a safety one? (the last three drivers I know of who've done it - Mahaveer Raghunathan, Doriane Pin and now Wurz - have all got completely different penalties)

F3 is much more balanced in terms of championship position of the odd/even groups. In fact, if you remove drivers not competing in Monaco from the standings, up until Charlie Wurz in net 15th but with the #6, everyone in an odd/even championship place has an odd/even race number.

Odd numbers are 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th and 21st in the championship, while even numbers are 3rd, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 19th, 18th and 22nd. Feel like they should have split them by championship position instead of race number.
