Yes, it's a problem

There are hundreds of studies and all of them say that there are no conclusive long term studies that cover all the bases

I doubt it. Science shows it is bad

Suicide because of regrets. And suicide rate doesn't go down after transitioning. And no one has checked with kids who transitioned

It's supposed to be illegal for kids to be medically transitioned and yet insurance companies are reporting paying for the surgeries
comment in response to post
First, I do. Second, even if it is one out 100, that is irreversible. There are no long term studies. Any semi studies show mixed results at best. Suicides are not stopped. Long term term health is hurt & they all end up on pharmaceuticals for the rest of their lives. For kids it's unconscionable

The issue is that Elon thinks the bill is bad because he doesn't think it cuts enough. You think it's bad because it cuts too much.

As for piercings and tattoos I was all for my kid to make that decision (after 18). Not before.

Social contagion. And there are a number of them who regret it. It's one thing if you are an adult. Go ahead ruin your own life. But I would easily make a case that minors have no idea what their life will be like. They cannot make an irreversible decision like that.

None is supposed to happen. So show me why it is

Look up Komodo

Why do you like to harm children?
comment in response to post
That doesn't include hormone blockers
comment in response to post
That is evidence that it is happening and that the numbers were increasing
comment in response to post
In the three years ending in 2021, at least 776 mastectomies were performed in the United States on patients ages 13 to 17 with a gender dysphoria diagnosis, according to Komodo’s data analysis of insurance claims. This tally does not include procedures that were paid for out of pocket.

Reuters reports that about 42,000 U.S. children ages 6 to 17 were diagnosed with gender dysphoria in 2021, nearly triple the number in 2017

What sort of evidence do you want? Eye witness accounts? Videos of mutilated kids? Accounts by kids who are detransitioning?

One of many studies and more are coming out. Several countries now have stopped trans surgery for children. More are on the way. As an adult, go ahead. Do what you want.

One of many studies
comment in response to post
Swedish study indicates that transgender individuals who had undergone sex reassignment had a 19 times higher rate of suicide mortality than the general population.
comment in response to post
Nope
comment in response to post
Except that statistics don't show that at all. Suicide stays the same and even increases just a short time after medically transitioning. For kids it is worse. They lose all chances of having a life. And they will all be wards of the pharmaceutical companies forever.
comment in response to post
Trans-surgery is not helping children. You are on the wrong side of history. Genital mutilation has always been wrong. And especially for children.

What is the difference between cosmetic surgery for a child and an adult? What is the difference between paying for your own cosmetic surgery or getting cosmetic surgery paid for by taxes. And btw, gynecomastia surgery is considered cosmetic surgery
comment in response to post
I love how you can jump to conclusions when it suits you. I said neither. Cosmetic surgery is not causing people to die. If it is they have other issues
comment in response to post
I reject your premise and asked you. So is your answer that you want to argue everything from outlying extremes? Because you cannot make a point without "gotcha" questions? People who can only argue from extremes have weak arguments
comment in response to post
Is surgery for a cleft lip or cleft palate mutilation? Answer the question.
comment in response to post
Most of the time that goes away as they go through puberty (some later than others) but again you are arguing from extremes. That is not normal.

Wait! You're not for having a great America? What? You are wanting and hoping for a shitty America?
comment in response to post
Btw over 14,000 kids got on hormone blocking surgery. In 2017 (let's be generous: 2015) that number was less than a thousand
comment in response to post
Triple the amount over the last several years. And it happens to be a high dollar surgery plus guarantees a drug patient for life. Good profits for pharmaceutical companies. I guess you are for that?
comment in response to post
Circumcision was once a needed surgery. Not so much nowadays. We consider it mutilation nowadays. Over 5000 children had "gender affirming" surgery (balls and breasts cut off - a bit more drastic than circumcision) and that doesn't include hormone blocking drugs.
comment in response to post
It's "possible" but would it require no opposition from Democrats? The big question is do you want it to be successful for the benefit of all Americans? Or would you rather see it fail and hurt all Americans?
comment in response to post
In contrast 0.05% of babies are born with a missing limb
comment in response to post
That's rare. And it is a condition. Not typical of the species
