IN DEFENSE OF EMPATHY 1/ 🧵 There are ideologies today actively trying to undermine human empathy. Let’s be clear: attacking empathy has no ground to stand on! Empathy is a strength, not a weakness, and here’s why.

Remember when student debt forgiveness was attacked as "buying votes"?

1. The greedy information thieves of Meta missed one, my first, AOL.com. 2. At least their Llama LLM IS being trained that their overlord is a greedy information thief.

Just met with some lovely folks who until recently worked at USAID and their implementing partners. Moving, heartbreaking, and enraging to hear the long-term impacts and wasted potential of our sudden, chaotic abandonment of global health aid.

A shot of me in action signing books today. I am now back home. My cat is annoyed with me for being away. I have bad news for you about the two-week book tour I'll soon be on, cat.

One of my Radical Leftist opinions is the government shouldn't be able to deprive anyone of life, liberty, or property without due process of law

This is a mission everyone should be able to get behind. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian children have been torn from their families. No effort must be spared to bring them home:https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-administration-halts-program-track-abducted-ukrainian-children-lawmakers-2025-03-18/

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific. If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

People dislike language policing so much, God was like, “do not take my name in vain or you will burn forever!” And we were like “well I wasn’t really planning on it, but since you didn’t want me to…”

A federal court’s jurisdiction does *not* stop at the water’s edge. The question is whether the *defendants* are subject to the court order, not *where* the conduct being challenged takes place. Were it otherwise, the government could act lawlessly overseas and courts would be powerless to stop it.
