Half of the main "culprits" ppl claim as being a response to madoka came out way too early to have been possible too. It still leaves only a handful of shows that could have been caused by pmmm. Not a wave, just a puddle at best.

Really wasn't much of a "wave" of darker mg after. The amount was insignificant in the long run and the overwhelming majority of mg post madoka were just as they'd always been. Modt adult oriented mg series had been fanservice heavy and raunchy if anything, which has always existed

I dont expect baby shows beholden to exec demands to show things that scary or raw but I don't see why the genre should never explore dark or intense moments if they want to nor to I think those are mutually exclusive to being a happy story overall or having silly goofy moments. Thats ridiculous. 🙄

Like way back when I was gassing up the ending to kuuga and saying I felt like it was an incredible way to show a character having strength through kindness and the actual fight made the violence look gross bc it was so raw and honest about it rather than showing off fancy effects and beam attacks..
