(actually I suppose it's two way but I never go east to west on it haha)

(for folks unfamiliar this is the W->E road just north of the mall, the parade is scheduled from the Lincoln Memorial to just past the Washington Monument)

I mean it'd be like tanks on Fifth Avenue in terms of how busy the road normally is and how much it'd fuck up traffic to be out of commission after tanks destroy it

it will honestly probably be fixed inside of two weeks as after the parade but man shutting down the road for that long will be wild

actually of the streets in DC Constitution is very well maintained, probably because it's a major thoroughfare to both downtown and the biggest tourist destinations

(also very funny that this is a major commuter thoroughfare and they're just gonna annihilate the asphalt to slake trump's ego)

lmao i just looked it up and the parade is only 8 blocks long, from 23rd to 15th on Constitution. literally less than the pride parade yesterday

oh 100%, america has been authoritarian to one extent or another since its inception. tanks rolling down constitution ave is gonna be a new sight though

nuance is hard in a post, what i really mean is that's the image of "authoritarian regimes" as presented to the american public since the dawn of the cold war. it's what normies imagine when they think about authoritarianism

there is unironically a part of me that hopes the parade goes off without a hitch just so we can add a new flag to the authoritarian parade stock image folder

like for at least half a century this has been the indelible image of authoritarian regimes

it's very difficult to say ahead of time how large the next social media protest is gonna be but I've seen a lot of chatter for No Kings and it sure feels like it'll have a good turnout

solo dev isn't some magical shibboleth for good games, it's a hugely painful and difficult process where you're asking someone to dedicate many hundreds of unpaid hours for the *hope* of someday being able to recoup their losses. it's not financially feasible and we shouldn't be valorizing it.

also worth noting: it's not out! there's some preview builds available on my itch page, but it's nowhere close to a full game, and i've been working on it for nine months. it'd take years at my current pace to get it where i want it without bringing more people onto the project

ive had friends help me solve design problems, work through coding issues, playtest ideas and builds and let me know how they are. even when 95% of a game is made by one person, that other 5% is load bearing.
