I do, however, believe that Elon Musk should split the Republican Party, making it irrelevant for decades if not die out altogether.

Source survival on the internet is abysmal. Future generations, regardless of technological capacity, will know almost nothing about the times in which we live.

If you think they ever wanted liberty or small government you’re a total rube

They’re both somewhat true and they feed off of each other in complicated ways.

Yep. There’s some unpredictable flips every now and then but the trend is strong

Nor the capitulation of half the country to mob rule and peasant-brain

As of 2025 there’s no direct, conclusive evidence for either the Big Bang or young earth creationism. Both are still on the table.

For me it was the idea that society could just turn its back on science, reading, and history. And yet. I should reread it.

I finished Canticle almost 3 years ago and probably think about this chapter and the ending every day

Being a dude who is friends with women is not only the greenest flag there can be, it’s also in my personal experience the number one way that people get in relationships just period, through mutual friends or friends of friends. The task before us is, in many ways, the un-abolition of society.

It’s easier to hide behind a thousand atrocities than a single incident.

At a bare minimum we need like a dozen new amendments if not an entirely new constitution.

The framing of that comment is such a dead giveaway that all the allegations are 100% true and if anything an understatement

The war between “people are smart they can handle it” and “the only groups Donald Trump won by a double digit lead in 2024 were evangelicals, Mormons, and people who self report as never reading the news”

Can only speak for Provo-Orem-Levi, the place on the list in which I live, but the people who are moving here are generally rightwards-leaning tech industry people seeking near-0 tax rates for their startups.

Incidentally a certain Nazi doctor tried to divide autistics into those who deserved to live and those who didn't, too. They used to name some of us after him.

I’ve seen more people destroy themselves on “could you elaborate on that?” than on any “brilliant” gotcha question.

It's a double-edged sword I think. While appealing to American-ness is a good short term strategy, down the road when we're gonna have to abolish the senate and electoral college they're going to be hampering.

With liberals like these, who needs conservatives?

Not all nations are settler-colonies
comment in response to post
The settlers weren’t the, the founding fathers were. The heads of the French and Spanish colonies didn’t dress up their naked greed and sadistic pleasure in genocide as “the will of the people” or later as “manifest destiny” as least as far as I’m aware

No border, no wall, no USA at all

Nobody yet. certainly nothing nationwide. But mutual aid groups and local self-defense groups are the building blocks of the better world we will need to survive.

What gets us closer is building dual power where we’re at. What the collapse of the U.S. gives us is an opportunity to go from dual power to power power.

Possible, and so often none at all. (100% cooption of BLM 2020 in exchange for 0% structural change.) I hope America can get better, but I don’t believe it will.
