Cats, bikes, urban policy and evidence-based policy generally, environment, books, quilts, and lots of randomness. GenX. Canada.
Let's try not to make things worse, shall we?

It is! I keep wishing they'd made it any colour other than brown, though. Navy blue? Deep burgundy? Forest green?

Yeah, they obviously need to figure out how to mount it so it's out of reach. Hanging from something in the middle of the street? I don't know. I mean, we need to redesign the street, of course, but in the meantime the camera needs to be unreachable.

I think odds are you could be arrested/charged. This is a bylaw designed to be weaponized. (I'm not a lawyer, though.)

I remember the yellow cop cars! You could see them from so, so far away. They shone like the sun (and gave you time to run). I'm not surprised they eventually decided to have duller colours.

Yes, I used to live across the street from a youth shelter. It generally had a very low-key presence. I'd take supportive housing over frat houses any day... but whatever; it makes for an interesting mix. It's a shame so many Annex houses have been turned from apartments to single-family.

Yes, I was coming here to say Rosedale instead of the Annex. Rosedale is so un-dense and full of silly winding streets.

I’ll be happily surprised if it isn’t, as it almost always is, the stepfather. Totally happy to be proven wrong. But.

That's like walking through a university campus in summer. Professor, or homeless?

It's SUCH an excellent word, though! One kind of has to use it when the opportunity arises. See also: petrichor.

That so clearly lacks equipoise I can't imagine how any REB would pass it.

It would help if they stopped giving seemingly every new development its own traffic light.
