Always a good sign when you hear a massive lightning strike and then, immediately, sirens. That’s good, right? Everything’s probably fine?

Late night, rain delayed Xfinity race at a drafting track? If there are 4 cars running at the end of this thing it'll be a miracle on the order of loaves and fishes.

What athlete’s expression will stay with you for the rest of your life?

🥵🥵🥵

And Larson just Verstappen’d Berry and fucked both of them🖕🏽

Jesus Christ I think Hocevar just passed Logano on the outside through turn 2. Alright then.

At this point I think Kyle Busch is what any of us would look like trying to drive one of these cars.

All jokes aside, Carson racing Ricky close without being a dipshit is the best way to squash this beef. So naturally, I hate it.

Too early for brakes, that’s gotta put the field on edge😬

Got a ConEd alert telling me to use less energy during the heat wave and this is all I can think about.

I have found my European equivalent—someone is keeping an early 2000s Grand Am alive in Switzerland, far from home and for no good apparent reason

Shoutout @elizablackstock.bsky.social for digging in and getting actual content for her stories instead of just regurgitating press releases and vaguely gesturing at a conclusion via pure speculation.

NASCAR going to Mexico City ended up perfectly illustrating the dichotomy of legitimately apologizing for saying something shitty vs. doubling down, then deleting your account to try and escape accountability. We all have bad opinions. How you respond to being called out is what matters.

lol

The Yankees sure picked an interesting time of year to turn into the Pirates. Gonna let the entire AL East catch up before they make the adjustment and start hitting again.

ngl.link/clutchandcoast sure, why not

“Hugging the big white telephone” is entering my vernacular immediately.

Devers for Jordan Hicks is fucking bananas. On the other hand, thank fucking god that guy is out of our division.

In the last 10 minutes I’ve agreed with both Corey LaJoie and Chase Elliott.

Hocevar v Stenhouse is the perfect rivalry because they’re the same dude in different fonts and neither one realizes he’s an idiot.

God dammit Prime show us the driftyboi

Shaaaaaaane

Terrible Herbst

Shane van Gisbergen 🤝 Mike Birbglia Guys with names nobody can pronounce that have experienced the Shits-Your-Pants-Erator.

Shane holding Bell just a touch wider on entry. Baller move.

I swear a late yellow to scramble the strategy is always from Hocevar, Gragson, or JHN.

Could just be because of the rain, or because it’s new, but is this now the best road course on the NASCAR calendar?

Shane gets a lot of credit for braking but he also knows how to tire save and maximize grip, and that includes not shredding the wet tires on the curbs for no reason.

I love NASCAR races in the rain.

I thought the Go Bowling dot com race was in Watkins Glen

Kyle “Kamikaze” Busch

Just saw someone at McDonald’s eating a breakfast burrito like an ear of corn and I’ll never be the same.

Shane on pole should scare the shit out of the field. Notoriously mid qualifier with good long run pace? Y’all have fun out there.

These guys are fighting for their lives out here

I’m still not sure how Hyperpole is supposed to be pronounced and I will continue to say it like hyperbole even if evidence is provided otherwise

The idea of an algorithm deciding what you see as opposed to a purely reverse chron is counter to essentially every way info was delivered or or the social internet functioned for decades. usenet, RSS readers, blogs, forums, LiveJournal, Facebook (originally), etc. It was all purely reverse chron.

It’s always races like this where the stages feel so unnecessary.

JHN…buddy.

A little Herbst Suarez tag team on that one
