Sticking with the matter at hand, my point is that the article simply critiques misrepresentation of disability by non-disabled people who make assumptions about embodied realities they have no experience of and cannot faithfully represent - which causes distress. END OF.

It is a critique of a poem by Morgan, not of Morgan's work as a whole. This is made clear. And please mind your language. "Those in distress" - I think you mean to say, those to whom distress is caused. Again, this is the pity model at play.

Poetry is many things. Before you trash the efforts of Nuala, and others in our community, perhaps it would be good to do some research into how the pity model of disability can lead to serious damage and dispossession.

Can you take the rough with the smooth? I had a review of Void Studies in the TLS and they used the headline "Empty Boast" which is NOT ok; it's playground mentality. The review was actually not bad.

ID: The book's cover features a square-shaped artwork by Polish artist, Julian Stanczak, entitled 'Concurrent Colors'. The painting creates an optical illusion of vertical moving curved lines in red and blue. At the edges of the painting the lines thin out so that they resemble a comb effect.
