Alternatively, worked for a bank call centre & took a call from Peter Serafinowicz, got super excited as he confirmed his security details, and immediately fucked up pronouncing his name.

All of this is just as well given that MH support locally seems to consist of a tissue of helplines and third sector groups signposting patients to one another.

The great push to erode the welfare state since the 1980s, whether sold in terms of "unaffordability" or "choice", is about diverting more wealth to the few, and that translates to greater morbidity and shorter lives for the many.

Do I have to limit 'community' to people born here, as per your boss's words today? How about my trans friends, or should I be more concerned with policing which toilets they use? If someone has to claim benefits can they truly be called part of the community? Please help us get it right Dr Rosena!

Turn to your community for support, because the NHS under this government sure as shit won't help you.

Completely missed that he was touring! Good to hear he's still got something in the tank, even if he's inevitably let himself go

It did me in on the first watch, caused physical pain. Just rewatched to see if it holds up and it's still a banger, but you can never truly go back to good comedy, it doesn't hit the same when you know what's coming 😕

Update: haven't fallen, have had hugs from four old skate pals I've not seen in months, haven't cried on anyone yet

We need to start taking the connection to white nationalism seriously too - his social media was saturated with the stuff, he's doing a Nazi salute in his Pinterest profile. Far right like to paint themselves as the protectors of (white) women but they hate us, they want us subjugated or dead.

It's not really solidarity if it's conditional is it? Especially the when that condition is 'speaking with deference to one's MP'. You should carry on talking to voters like this, I think it'll go really well for you.

Who knows, there's plenty of managerial work to be done in women's centres that doesn't involve direct work with clients (e.g. doesn't remotely qualify you to pontificate on the effect of trans women) + according to this it was 3 yrs at the refuge *her mum founded* news.sky.com/story/who-is...

You can have a little euphemism, as a treat, if it helps you better understand, or express, or just take a small step back from your grief. And that includes if you're mourning the death of the Pope, which I never really understood but maybe do a bit more this time? Unless you're a bod on the news.

Not to shit on the OP, the point is valid when reporting fact, but I do bristle a bit at euphemism being characterised as 'mimsy' here when it's been a helpful tool to me the last month, when using DIED DIED DIED repeatedly to talk about my granny has felt like battering myself with a shovel

I think my mum's equation was: cheap bag of little choccy eggs from the market + a decent amount of garden space = kids out of the house & distracted for ~45 mins. Plus they'd always miss some so you'd usually find a little treat by a plant pot a week later.

We had none of the church stuff so it was mostly just eggstravaganza & something fancy for tea later. Think I got more out of it as a older kid when my mum would let me help with the Easter egg hunt - loved watching my brother & kids from the street find all my ingenious hiding spots.

You are so very clearly not cut out to be an MP, least of all in this particular political moment, if your response to people challenging your appeasement of a fascist government is to cry about meanies on bluesky. Don't think that'll be an issue for you after the next election tbh.

Would be great if we could manage to be remotely normal as a country

Which is not to say that cis people being potentially harassed is the thing to worry about here, but that creating an environment of hostility to trans people in public life is more important to GCs than any practical, reality-based implications of their campaigning

It definitely already happens, this ruling emboldens the gender crit police to go even harder after any woman, cis or trans, that they deem to be too unfeminine. Would 100% include me if I cut my hair short, would probably include most of my post-menopausal relatives.
