We got word from our distributor: Amazon has refused to stream THE INVISIBLE DOCTRINE w/ @georgemonbiot.bsky.social 🤔 We take it as a compliment. You can however watch it on: • Apple TV • Google Play • YouTube Movies • Vimeo

🚨🚨California national guards troops & marines deployed to #LA to help restore order after days of protest against the Trump admin have told friends and family members that their only meaningful role will be as pawns in a political battle they do not want to join.🧵 www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

What we saw today is what we see in dictatorships. And if they can do this to @padilla.senate.gov, imagine how vulnerable others in this country are to this kind of tyranny and abuse. This is a moment for every American to STAND UP for freedom and for our Constitution.

fascists will try and seed fear, uncertainty and doubt, as well as high levels of despair in their populations to try and break them I would assume we are going to see a massive influx in despair posting and nihilist doom posting from suspect accounts as things really continued to amp up.

Another example of the normalisation of ethnic cleansing

These ICE protests aren't just protests. They are direct actions, with strategy behind them calculated to protect our neighbors and loved ones from kidnapping and torture. Activists are debating and experimenting with and fine-tuning tactics with the goal of disrupting and delaying ICE trafficking.

The world isn't silent on Gaza - this is by far the most vocal I have seen the general public on a political issue in my lifetime. I have also never seen a bigger difference between the anger of the public and the inaction of specific institutions and governments. That's the crucial disconnect.

The Elders urge Starmer, Macron & @mark-carney.bsky.social: recognise Palestine, uphold international law. Are any listening—or brave enough to defy their pro-Israel lobbies? Every MP who backs them & every person of conscience in 🇨🇦🇫🇷🇬🇧 must demand it. Now. #Palestine #Peace #Justice

It’s Getting Hot in Here: Climate Change as a Catalyst for Nuclear Proliferation

What has concerned me greatly for years is the suspicion that as the world overheats and resources get scarce, humanity will attempt to solve the problem with technology - culminating in an attempt to rearrange access to resources with modern weapons. THAT could end civilization, even our species.

Hmm some said Greta & crew weren’t kidnapped to Israel on 6/9. Greta was returned to Paris today with crew members still held in Israel Arriving in Paris she commented on TACO describing her as an angry person “I think the world needs a lot more angry young women”

Israel has long used undercover forces posing as Palestinians to sow strife. Today, it is using this strategy again in Gaza in the form of the gangs taking control over humanitarian aid. The goal is to fragment and dismember Palestinian society. mondoweiss.net/2025/06/isra... #Palestine #Israel

there really seems to be a strange “green lantern theory of fascism” that some people on this website have internalized, in which the white house’s desire for martial law — it’s desire for organized repression — is tantamount to a guarantee that it will happen

Antivaxxers own this. Infectious disease minimizers own this. Public health officials and media who keep promoting "immunity debt" and "natural immunity" own this. www.cp24.com/news/canada/...

F**k

Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism. https://www.commondreams.org/news/david-huerta-arrested

Trump has federalized at least 2,000 National Guard forces and reportedly plans to deploy troops to Los Angeles over Governor Newsom’s objections. If that happens, it will be the first time since 1965 that a president has sent troops into a state without a state request. 1/19

Stephen Miller got caught repeatedly trafficking in white nationalist rhetoric and conspiracy theories and an ABC News reporter got suspended for calling Miller hateful

Don't listen to the people bleating on social media that "no one is doing anything." What they are actually saying is that THEY aren't doing anything. The reality is that folks are working in every corner of the world, doing so much to keep themselves and others alive, while building the future.

the white house thinks brute force is, no pun intended, a trump card. they don’t anticipate pushback and they don’t know how to handle it with anything other than escalation. the issue is that each escalation is itself a gamble. if protesters refuse to back down, you’ve lost face. (1/?)

People trying to protect their neighbors are not the problem. The fact that some of you are thinking that way reflects a level of psychological capture & submission to fascism that you should interrogate. If they want an "excuse" to do something, they'll create one. The good guys aren't the problem.

The deployment of federalized National Guard troops to California, without consent from local or state officials, is deeply troubling. These are tactics seen in authoritarian regimes, not in America. We want to be clear, the military should not be used to police civilians.

“Tasted a little tear gas— tasted like fascism”

ICE is a much greater threat to this country than illegal immigrants. The current administration ia by far the greatest threat this country faces. The problem is not st our borders. It is in the White House.

This is an ominous step toward martial law. The time for mobilizing peacefully but massively against this dangerous progression is NOW. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/07/u...

Just want to speak to folks in climate and clean energy here. It's not too late to change the culture of fear and punishment in our corner of the world for speaking up about defunding the police and moving into the aligned movements against fascism. But it will take serious, sustained work.

Watch this video. RFK Jr says, of Makary, Bhattacharya & Prasad, "we're friends, we talk to each other every day, we go to dinner with each other, we go on vacations with each other, & we genuinely enjoy each other's company." I can NEVER forgive Makary, Bhattacharya, & Prasad for boosting RFK Jr 😡

If you want to show solidarity with Los Angeles, the best thing to do is organize protests against ICE tonight/tomorrow in your own cities. Search the web for ICE rapid response networks in your own city / state and sign up. Help your neighbors.

If you strip away the egos and shitposting, the Trump-Musk feud is really an argument over how comprehensively to screw over poor and working people—over how best to make our society a meaner, crueler, less equal, more savage place. New piece from me: newrepublic.com/article/1962...

We asked people who lived in homeless encampments that were cleared out in city “sweeps” to write about what object was the hardest for them to lose. “They took my baby pictures and my moms obituaries,” a 29-year-old in California wrote.

Chris Murphy: "We can't be preparing for the 2026 election. It might not come. All of our focus right now has to be on protecting the democracy, about stopping the corruption."

Devastated for my friends and colleagues in Poland, where once again the tack right to defeat the right strategy failed (as it reliably does) and has brought authoritarianism back when they fought so valiantly in 2022 to defeat it. 🧵
